Stick with 3.55 for a while, the ps3key even though expensive would be a permanent solution.
If you can get the key of your blu ray drive somehow, updating wouldn't matter if you're going to use ps3key cuz that one is specific to each drive and can't be changed just like the private keys. But that's not possible as of now, so again keep 3.55.

Any news on this, did anyone who updated tried new games???

i would really not buy out the 3Key even though they are a reputable source but sony is well known for fixing loose ends,sony might just update the drive fw like microsoft does and its the end and fix the loopholes which caused the drive fw to be easily extracted!!!!!

As I said that's not possible, that key can't be changed with software updates, that is why they are saying that even if they bring out a new FW, it won't matter.

I'm going to wait for 3k3y ,it surely going to last for another $ony update,unlike a sh!tty CFW.

i am not saying that they will change the drive fw they will just add new challenges to check authentication of the disk ,the same way microsoft does!!!!

Very much possible as sony is still trying to support ps3 upto 2015.Drive key cant be changed but its firmware can easily be changed!!!
And looking at price tags a x360key retails for 100 bucks that to dvd this bd key will minimum cost around 150 bucks thats half the price of a new ps3!!!

Like what part of the FW? The PS3 uses 2 sets of keys to identify the disc, one for decryption (can be changed) and one for encryption (can't be changed), the latter one is the one they are using, it friggin emulates the whole drive. So BR disc->(decryption)->BR-drive->(encryption)-> PS3, They can't hop from BD disc to PS3, it has to go through that encryoption process, and that is what they know, and it can't be changed.

If you ask me the keys have been found in a while but devs wanna make some money out of it, I'm no dev but I've been here long enough to understand certain things. I also might be wrong, but if I would be and if 3k3y were lying then the devs in the scene would've said that when it was announced.

According to them the 3k3y will cost 129$ w/o shipping. I paid 110e (about 150$) for a ps3break dongle, but the dongle era is gone, and I hope it won't ever come back.
