just because something leaked there first before doesn't mean every time it leaks it is trustworthy....especially if it's in torrent form!!! I wouldn't trust a torrent if I was told I'd get a million dollars if it's not legitimate....beside the fact that now all the scene trolls are posting every sort of malware and sneaky files they can all over tpb because they know people like you will use the logic "well, one time out of a billion I got something legitimate from here....everything from here must be legitimate now" lulz

for a long time they had the upper-hand....but the definitely didn't win. We can turn our consoles into a debug unit, for all intents and purposes, with no exceptions....I'd call that a finish-move for the scene, if you ask meNo matter how many firmware updates and new hardware revisions they release, the secret is out. all we need now is to figure out how to get 3000 series console converted and they will never recover.
just wait, though....there's retaliation coming....Sony will not sit by idly and pout about this...they're going to come out with guns blazing. I'm just waiting to see who takes the first shot in this battle. I hope it's kado.

Hall of Famer I mean, if you look at the whole ps3 lifespan until now. Ps3 came out in 2006, it was fat, loud, 20gigs, major problems such as the overheating and the ylod and expensive!for a long time they had the upper-hand....but the definitely didn't win. Then it had an "improvement" in my opinion, that's why I decided to finally get a ps3, no matter ports removal and otheros removal. It was the slim ps3.
And it came out in 2009, half the price and all the amelioration. But the first decent hack was only a year later! So it was 4 full years of sony pure gain already lol!
Now I look at it today, we have a cfw that is not so custom lol, mostly comparing it to the psp. Where's its ease of use? Gaming and browsing experience?
Put this on external, patch that, disc in, install data, won't read savedata, update v1.12345, psn-edat-rap, eboot, sprx, param and what not.
Where is the ntfs support? Ps2? Psp? Where's windows xp installation lol? Wanna talk about loading times? Supported audio and video files? In game music?
Ps4 will be released shortly and am not sure devs would wake up all of a sudden to work on ps3 instead of focusing on the ps4.
But anyway, sony won this time in my opinion and they keep scoring. I would love a proper 4.20cfw this very moment, because I just want to use my ps3 at its finest.
But on the other hand you can't deny it would be late and at this point unlikely. Seems like ps3 has been made just to have a hard time with it lol.
At least I cut down the damage by getting a slim and dodging the dongles!

Athanatos I think it's more likely that sony will have learned a great deal about securing their hardware by the time we see ps4. Since they saw how well their security worked this time, they will realize the small tweeks it needs to make it even that much better next time. I honestly think if you don't expect the exact same thing to happen next time...that's IF we even get close to where we are now...then you may possibly still be dreaming lol
Sony won't give up...they're like herpes, man. They won't stop until their console is COMPLETELY unhackable, and they know it's possible...they may even have gotten it done already with the 3000 series. We've all read kaka's article on cracking lv0...calculating those keys would take centuries, even with the most powerful super computer in the world. Now they went and threw in lv0.2, just to make it even more difficult. Would it surprise you if you found out ps4 had 35 layers of encryption? I would probably just say "yeah...that sounds about right"
what's my point?? even after ps4 does launch, ps3 will still be wide-opened. If it takes us 2 years to get cfw on ps4, people will be using modded ps3s that whole time. the ps3 scene isn't going anywhere. have you noticed there's a new breed of devs coming out of the woodwork? The ps3 scene isn't alone...it seems every scene is seeing new devs emerge who are improving the old devs' work and making huge leaps and bounds none of the old devs ever thought was possible. We're bound to see the same thing continue like we have in recent weeks. We'll be just fine, man...homebrew will continue to improve, as will dex cfw. I mean honestly, it's not even really the firmware that needs work. It's the homebrew. we need a dex backup loader...like multiman, but for bdemu games. or maybe dean can roll both into one app like he did with cobra?
honestly, though, throwing the towel in at this point and just saying "well, it's been a nice ride" is just too much irony to handle lol we rode out the scene when it was at its worst...and now that it's reviving and fighting back and just about to win the bout you've said "well...sony won" lol IMHO, sony is currently lumped up, bloody, bruised, and possibly missing an ear if mike tyson had anything to do with it
