I'm sorry guys, I can't be convinced that DEX "currently" offers the same ease of use as 3.55 + TB.
Honestly a step backwards right now. Maybe down the line when more stuff gets figured then it might be better but right now it isn't yet.

Right now using TB 3.55 is still easier than using DEX. No reason to not admit this.
It will take a little more time for DEX to offer the same ease of use and become the mainstream method "if it ever does".

Your right that tb is easier but a step backwards I would have to disagree with. I see it as a step towards not needing tb. TB uses fselfs, debug uses fselfs, I remember reading somewhere that TB mounts firmware, could that be the debug features needed to run fselfs.

I think when not having to install Linux (and unwanted piece of software to most) formatting your PS3 and we can load up all games you have on USB (not just a few) then it will be a step forward. That's what I mean by step backward. Current methods of DEX don't offer what we currently have and can do just yet. Like I said, it still needs more time to develop then we can say we don't need something.

Fair comment, its all gotta start somewhere I suppose. Anyway you only need to format internal if you dont have or cant afford to get another hdd, even a 40gb will do it. Just replace your current hdd with a spare then change back after conversion, this is what I did.
But for the time being at least some newer games are available to play for the end users. Even if it is a bit of a pain. Glass half full.

@BlackoToo : I'm sure there will soon be an easier method , remember the first steps of QA Flag ? I'm sure that's gonna be the same thing for the DEX Converter

u can do that? I thought simply removing the internal hdd would require u to reformat it once plugged in no matter what. that is the one problem I'm having since I have a 750GB internal hdd. backing up everything would require quite a large external hdd obviously.

Yeah works, the procedure I used was a cautious 1:
took out 500gb
put in 80gb
installed 80gb with ofw 355
installed otheros 355
done the linux stuff and flashing
installed dex 355
took out 80gb
put in 500gb
and installed dex 355 again.
So I havent lost anything, I probably wouldnt have converted if I had to format my 500gb
