Thread: -rep for posting a solution already posted in the same thread

What do you all think about someone giving you negative rep for posting a solution to a problem in the Help section that was already posted earlier? Not naming names, but somebody did that to me and now i have a nice red dot in my rep column. it's minor, but somewhat annoying.

rep is nothing to be worried about

just a number (green/red bar)

but -rep for something that is already posted is not really needed.
just a simple post saying this is already posted should do, then us mods can close it
