Thread: Memory card not formatting

So I recently got a chipped PS1. The older box style one. I also just got a new memory card to save stuff. The problem is, when I get a part to save it just says "memory card is unformatted', so I click yes to format it, then when I go to save it says 'memory card is unformatted' over and over.

anybody know a fix for this?

Have you tried reformatting on a PS2 or any other console?

Nope. I don't have any other system to try it on. I got a new memory card, thinking that first one was bad. The second card is doing the same thing.

However... when I have both memory cards plugged in... It'll actually format the card in slot 2, and I can go to save. The problem is it says the game has been saved, but when I go to load a save file, there never is any data there.

I wonder if this has something to do with the fact i'm using burned games, or maybe it's the stealth mod chip I have installed. I just wish I could save!
