Thread: Anyone help me get a PSX game to work on chipped PS2

Hello, i have a PS2 V7 firmware chipped. I dont know what modchip i have, and don't want to open the PS2. I have timecrisis U for PSX, and image,ccd and sub files. I have used clone cd to burn the game, at 4x speed but still doesn't work. I have made 4 copies of the game and all dont work. It either reads it as an audio CD, or i get the red screen saying please insert a playstation or PS disc.. Any ideas? thanks

I'm betting you've either got a bad disc image, or your modchip doesn't support backup PSX games which is VERY unlikely.

Is there anyway of checking my modchip without opeing my PS2? thanks

Quite a lot of the modchips have a service mode, but what key combinations you need to press on startup, I don't know. Never owned a modchip, probably never will.

You might wanna google for more info but I couldn't find anything.
