Whats the best emulator or program to play ps1 games on the pc
i use pcsxr. use the pete's plugins w/ it. the emulator rox, runs perfectly. compatibility is real good too. plus if you do get a game that doesnt work on it, get epxse, only thing w/ that emulator is you cant use a controller, which really sux. but i would go w/ pcsxr w/out a doubt.

They all use the same plugins... doesn't matter which one you pick really. Personally I use pcsx on kubuntu linux since it is in their repo.
To use it just:
then run it once, it will make the user folder in ~/.pcsx and you can stick your linux .so plugins and bios in their the respective folders. Not saying I think you run linux, but if others out there are, they might wanna know too.Code:sudo apt-get install pcsx
There is only like 2 emulators for ps1 I don't suggest and that's VGStation (I think that's the name) and bleem they don't use the "universal plugin system" of the pcsx clones, and VGStation doesn't even have hardware (opengl/direct3d) video output. Remember folks, if you don't like the input scheme, graphics output, sound output, network support, whatever, they can all be changed with different plugins. And there are tons of plugins out there.
Virtual Game Station and Bleem have been discontinued since windows 98, if anyone is brain dead enough to still be using them then they get what they deserve.
I personally use ePSXe, since VGS went belly up I've never used anything but ePSXe but since it works almost perfectly on all the games I've tried why mess with a good thing.
