what exactly is psx?

PSX - Original release bulky Playstation 1.
PSOne - Second model slim Playstation 1.

It's the original and Bulkier Playstation whereas PS1 is it's second an dslimmer version. Sort of like the PSP and PSP SLIM.

Sure do miss the first PSX that came out with the RCA cable hook ups build in the system and not through the A/V cord that later PSX and PSone as well as PS2 systems use to this day..

But ya PSX is just an abbreviation of Playstation..
