Hmm.. this reply is a bit late, but I can't seem to get this to work.

The download was a RAR file type, not an ISO. So I burned the uncompacted files to a CD using the slowest speed, as usual, however this time I could not get my modded PS2 to load the CD!

I booted up my PS2 in both PSX and PS2 modes for the mod chip, and neither seemed to show a result, except that in PSX mode it just stays on the menu, where as in PS2 mode it will give me the expected error for a non PSX/PS2 disc.

    Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to write quite late since you posted this, but when I downloaded the Zip file, there were 3 different files (the Undisker Disk Image with 77 bites, a file named pav_psxhkb8.bin with 161 MB and pav_psxhkb8 with 4,69 KB which I don't know what it is). My question is, which of the three files is the one required to burn to have this game?
Because it's logic to think that the file to be burned is the undisker disk file, but it's very light, and the file which weights 161 MB is not an .iso file, so I would appreciate if someone could give me an answer.

Install ImgBurn, Then select the file that becomes associated with it.
The bin and cue files are required to be in the same folder to burn the image.
The cue file is one of the two smaller files, I have no idea what the other of the small files is.

Basically, the bin file contains the data and the cue tells the burning software how to burn that data.
