Default Rebug 3.55.2 and How to ReActPSN v2.0 complete tutorial

How to Update from Kmeaw CFW to Rebug 3.55.2 and How to ReActPSN v2.0 complete tutorial including flashing vsh.self files within MultiMan (Noob Proof)

    1. Put USB Thumb Stick or USB HDD, that you use for your PS3 Into PC or MAC.

    2. Download Rebug 3.55.2 CFW (You will get a REBUG_3.55.2_PS3UPDAT.PUP file). Rebug 3.55.2 can be found here(Right Column top downloads).

    3. Extract REBUG_3.55.2.rar and rename REBUG_3.55.2_PS3UPDAT.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP (SOME USERS REPORT THAT YOU WILL LOSE PS3 MEDIA SERVER IF YOU INSTALL REBUG)

    4. Create a folder on the root of your USB Thumb drive or USB HDD called PS3, now in the PS3 folder, create a folder called UPDATE (All caps for both folders).

    5. Drag PS3UPDAT.PUP to the PS3/UPDATE folder on the USB Thumb stick or USB HDD. Put USB stick in or connect USB HDD to PS3 USB port.

    6. Turn on PS3 and go to settings tab system update, select update via storage device, Rebug 3.55 will appear, just accept the agreement, then click on the shut down after installation box.

    7. Turn back on your PS3 and you will see Rebug 3.55.2 CFW being installed.

    8. Once it is finished, restart the PS3 again. Welcome to Rebug 3.55.2. Also there is an update 4 .pkg file for Rebug 3.55.2 as well. Download the pkg, copy it over to your USB Thumb and install pkg.

    9. Now put your USB Thumb or USB HDD back into your PC or MAC.

    10. Create a folder on your desktop called reActPSN v2.0.

    11. Download both reActPSN v2.0 and vsh.self Patched for reactPSN2.0.

    12. Extract vsh.self patched folder first. Go into rebug 3.55.1 folder, you will see three vsh.self files (vsh.self, vsh.self.cesxp, vsh.self.swp).

    13. Drag the three vsh.self files to the root of your USB Thumb Stick or USB HDD, same one used to update to Rebug 3.55.2, if you haven't already done so. All three vsh.self files should now be on the root USB Thumb Stick or USB HDD.

    14. Now extract reactPSN v2.0.rar and drag reactPSN v2.0 pkg to the root of your USB Thumb stick or USB HDD as well.

    15. On the root of your USB Thumb Stick create a folder called exdata. Whenever you get new rap and edat files drag them into this very folder (Every Time) usb:exdata/rap files. Always leave previous
rap and edat files in exdata for when you reuse reActPSN v2.0 for newer games downloaded.

    16. Now download newest MultiMan, make sure you're in the MultiMan XMB view, the one that looks like XMB. Scroll to the left until you see settings, scroll all the way down, to where it says write access to /dev_flash (Disabled), Enable that setting.

    17. Now scroll to the game tab within MultiMan XMB view and hit triangle. You should see filemanager option on the bottom. Go into filemanager.

    18. Now you will see a right column and left column. On the right column scroll to /dev_blind/vsh/module. On the left column scroll hit (....) scroll back to usbdev000 (Make sure USB Thumb stick or USB HDD is inserted on the right usb port slot, that port is called usbdev0000).

    19. Now scroll down, you will see those three vsh files from earlier (That I asked you to drag over). Hit triangle or Circle and a menu will come up select copy to and do this for all three vsh files.

    20. When you are done copying the three vsh.self files over (vsh.self, vsh.self.cesxp, vsh.self.swp), go back to settings and disable write access to /dev_flash (Do not reboot until you do this).

    21. Reboot PS3 (Rebug is now patched for reActPSN 2.0 for good).

    22. Now install the reActPSN v2.0 pkg like any other pkg.

    23. Run ReActPSN and hold R1 (Some people say Hold Circle instead) during the restart process should only take about 20 seconds. (Holding R1 will make a ReActPSN folder on the base of your usb drive with 2 folders in it "BK0001" and "pubPSN"). Any content you purchased prior to this hack will be backed up in the pubPSN/ exdata folder in the form of rap and edat files (These are the very files needed for us all to activate any shared psn, dlc or psone classic games, THAT YOU OWN).

    24. Copy the exdata folder in pubPSN to the root of your USB drive. It will look like this in a File browser/manager "usb drive"/exdata/".rap files". Just put them on your PC or MAC, then upload them here if you got games or dlc content not already uploaded.

    25. Create a new user account on the PS3 called aa

    26. Run reActPSN again *do not push anything this time* (After PS3 restart, it will rename user "aa" to ReActPSN 2.0 xrif xedat "x" meaning the number of rap/edat licenses you currently have activated).

    27. When it's finished your PS3 console will automatically restart again (If not restart PS3 manually).

    28. You'll notice aa has been renamed to ReActPSN 2.0 xrif xedat. Thats it done.

    30. Every time you want to install new PSN, PSone games or DLC content, just go into ReActPSN v2.0 account and rename it to aa (You can do multiple games, dlc, etc at one time, if you have rap and edat files)

    31. Download, extract rap and edat files to exdata folder on the root of your USB Thumb stick or USB HDD.

    32. Run reActPSN v2.0 again, then install PSN game, DLC, or PSone classic pkg(s) (After reboot).

    33. Viola all games installed activated.

    34. Make sure to keep all previously activated rap and edat files in the exdata folder on Root of USB Thumb stick or HDD for every time you use reActPSN v2.0 and also for archival purposes.

After you have completed the above tutorial successfully do the below steps every time you want to put a new added PSN, DLC or PSone classic game on your PS3.

Credit goes to Whitezombie and myself (For this portion of the tutorial).

1: Put USB or HDD drive in computer usb port. Drag the rap file of newly downloaded game to exdata folder on USB or HDD drive. Also drag the psn, dlc, or psone classic pkg downloaded, to the root of your USB or HDD drive and install it like any other package.
2: Copy the folder "exdata" to a USB Thumb Stick or HDD goto your PS3 and place it in USB000 (Furthest slot to the right)
3: Create a new user called "aa" or rename your current "ReActPSN 2.0" user to "aa" again.
4: Run the ReActPSN tool, it will restart your PS3 w/ the license now active required to run the content.
5: Install the .pkg labeled "UP9000-NPUJ94163_00-0000000000000001.pkg" (Or any other downloaded PSN, DLC or PSone Classic game with .pkg on the end)
    6: Run game and enjoy!

Credit goes to myself and Gambaa for this tut. This tutorial was rewritten by me but i give gaamba credit for original tutorial.

    Kmeaw Users

This will not work for Kmeaw users who have never signed on to PSN as you will not have an exdata folder with act.dat generated (Which is needed for ReActPSN 2.0, to work)

Kmeaw users? Follow the same exact instructions posted above. But, make sure to go into the 3.55k folder in vsh.self Patched for reActPSN2.0.rar file, instead and put the vsh.self on USB Thumb or USB HDD root and only overwrite one vsh.self file, instead of three in MultiMan (Just follow the instructions posted above). I still would highly recommend upgrading to Rebug 3.55.2. Kmeaw 3.55 CFW is still a little iffy at this point. Enjoy!

How To Revert Back To Kmeaw 3.55 CFW From Rebug 3.55.2 (or update 4)

Feel like Rebug 3.55.2 is too slow? HDD access speeds are not to your current standards? You just downright feel paranoid, because your no longer on your beloved Kmeaw 3.55 CFW firmware? You really don't care about Rebug and it's advanced capabilities? Well heres how to revert back to Kmeaw 3.55 CFW from Rebug 3.55.2. Quite simple actually. Follow the steps below please. Create a folder on the root of your usb device, the same usb device used to do the ReActPSN 2.0 tutorial.

    1. Create a folder on your PC or Mac Desktop (Or any location on your computer, where you feel comfortable).
    2. Rename the folder to PS3 (All caps).
    3. Inside the PS3 folder, create another folder and name it UPDATE (All caps).
    4. Rename your Kmeaw 3.55 CFW to PS3UPDAT.PUP (All Caps).
    5. Drag your PS3UPDAT.PUP (From current location) to the PS3/UPDATE folder on your usb device.
    6. Insert your chosen usb device into the PS3.
    7. Log onto your user account, scroll to settings on the XMB and select system update.
    8. Select System update via storage device, agree to the terms, watch the PS3 reset itself, and then it will reinstall your precious Kmeaw 3.55 CFW.
    9. Enjoy!

    Black Screen and Other Problems

Disclaimer: If you are getting Black Screens after creating "aa" account and using ReActPSN 2.0

    1. Make sure you are using the correct CFW firmware (3.41 & 3.55, etc). Do not use Rebug version 0.2 (Thats an outdated version).
    2. Also make sure you download the correct Rebug CFW (Rebug 3.55.2) from Rebugs main site.
    3. Also make sure to upgrade to Rebug update 4 after installing Rebug 3.55.2 (It's a simple pkg file you install). Although, this is not mandatory, but it fixes a lot of bugs in Rebug CFW.

I was just made aware that going back to kmeaw for those who needed to use rebug (due to no prior PSN) breaks the licence info. So until I can 100% verify this, be careful. Revert back at your own risk. i do know reverting back will erase your modified vsh files. So you would have to do the Reactpsn process over again. Just drag the vsh files over (depending on your cfw) and create a new account and rename to aa and do the reacpsn process as usual.

Official Dynamic Themes Tutorial (Credit goes to TmasPS3)

    Installation Help

PKGs = Install from "Install Package Files" on XMB.

EDATs = Install in hdd0/theme folder on internal ps3 hdd. Not the exdata folder!

P3Ts = Install in hdd0/theme folder on internal ps3 hdd.

RAPs = Needs to be in folder called "exdata" on root of thumb drive. run reActPSN to activate themes. Dont forget to rename profile to aa before each use.

Themes will show as corrupt until you run ReActPSN with the required raps.

For those having problems on Kmeaw (Don't try this if you have never logged in to PSN) Using
vsh.self.patcher.for.reActPSN2.pkg will automate the process for you. Search the forum on here for the installation procedure.

You can now find this guide on BCG's as well. I'm a member there also.

    Some questions:
After i patched the .vsh files on rebug 3.55.2, can i change back to the original .vsh files and go back to Kmeaw without any risk of brick?
And the games and DLC will still be working?

I'm thinking of doing an one-shot instalation...

You should be able to. Make sure to backup your vsh files first, before doing the tutorial, as that will overwrite them and you may be out of luck.

Sorry, guys. Slight nOOb question incoming....

I'm assuming upgrading from Keamw to Rebug doesn't wipe your Hard Drive? And game compatibility is the same?

Anything else I need to know?
    Thanks in advance.
Am I meant to put something funny here?

/dev_blind/vsh/module (Scroll to that location from the right column in MM File Manager, copy vsh.self to Left column, your usb device from right port usb0000). You will need to enable write access to /dev_flash at the bottom in settings, in MM XMB mode. Make sure to disable write access to /dev_flash when finished. Also try to copy the vsh.self first without enabling write access. Cause your not actually writing anything your just copying.

thanks! +rep. I tested final fantasy vii and mega man 10--both worked perfectly. I guess now duplex won't have to make cracks for each individual game if anyone who bought something on psn uploaded their .rap and .edat files. r these licenses integrated into the reACTPSN.... user for anyone on the ps3 or is the license essentially zeroed out for the user making it to where a license isn't even used with the full game? I'm trying to understand the specifics of what's going on when using the license files. thanks! it almost sounds like the license itself isn't zeroed out but the user is. I'm making this assumption based on what happens with a jtagged 360 during yaris swapping.

Tried this method to activate my RockBand DLC and didn`t work ....
I have YLOD on my old ps3, but I was able to backup the home folder in dev_hdd0, witch contained exdata folders for all usernames on my consol.
Also was able to backup the game data for RockBand witch has about 200 downloaded songs in it.
What I did was replace the home folder in dev_hdd0 in my new console, copy the RockBand game data and rebuild database in order for usernames and game data to appear correctly.
Then I followed all the steps in grimms tutorial.
After pressing R1 as I started the pkg file, I didn`t get the BK0001 folder, just the pubPSN (if that is a problem).
Everything worked flawlessly. But when I enter the game ... the songs are there but when I want to play a song it says UNABLE to LOAD.....
    Any help ?
