PS3 side:
1. After the installation of
PS3 side is complete, try to run the Dreamy Theater app, press start and it should ask for a
PSP to connect.
PSP side: (I will skip the DLC part for now)
1. copy the NPJH-90121.iso into your
psp memory stick \ISO folder.
2. If you have played the original Project Diva before and wish to use your own save data, skip this step. If you want to start the game from zero, then get a copy of Project Diva, finish the game on your
PSP then come back. Otherwise, there is a complete savedata included on this package, just copy ULJM05472MAIN00 and 01 to your
PSP SAVEDATA folder.
3. Run the Dreamy Theater app, connect an USB cable to your
PS3 and see if it can connect.
Note: In case if your
PSP or
PS3 complains about the save data is not yours (I am using FW5.50 Prome-2, maybe its only me, you might not encounter this), then you need to run the original Project Diva game (not included in this package), load the savedata, play couple of songs and then SAVE IT AGAIN by using your own
PSP.
How to actually start the game:
The main menu will be shown after the initial connection, but the first 3 menu items (Free play, Module compile and Create play list) are diminished so nothing can be played at this point. Now choose the 4th menu item (DIVA data copy), it will ask for connecting to the
PSP again, and then choose the 1st item (System data copy). This reads your save progress from your
PSP, so if you are using the complete savedata you should see 35/35 songs and 53/53 modules are now unlocked. Now go back to the main menu and you should see the previously diminished items are now available. You can now safely disconnect/power off your
PSP and start playing.
DLC:
There are 27 more songs released as DLC in the format of "EDIT DATA"
To play them you must first copy them to your
PSP memory stick and then register them one by one to your
PS3. To do this, copy SAVEDATA\ULJM05472EDIT00-27
into your
PSP SAVEDATA folder, and now copy all the mp3 into your
PSP \MUSIC folder. (The file name of those mp3 are written in japanese, make sure its not garaged or else it won't work)
When its done, connect it back to your
PS3, choose the 4th menu item (DIVA data copy) from the main menu and then the 2nd menu (Edit data copy). (The 3rd one is "Edit data delete" so if you mess anything up you can delete it and try again.) Here comes the most time consuming part, now you have 27 edit data on your list (00 to 26), you will have to register them one by one (stupid sega). For example, choose the first edit data: 00 歌に形はないけれど, the next screen will show up a list of available stock non-dlc songs, important!! NOW PRESS R1 TO SWITCH to the MP3 list !!, then manually assign the matching mp3 file with the edit data you have previously chosen i.e. 歌に形はないけれど.mp3. Got it? Repeat it for the rest of the 26 DLC songs.. LOL.
The DLC songs can be played under the same Free play menu, you press the R1/L1 to switch between stock songs / edit songs / and play list. Unlike the stock songs, the DLC songs only have one difficulty, and no hi-score records etc.
Game play FAQ
- during game you can capture screen by pressing the PS button, then there is a save screenshot option under the XMB photo icon.
-The savedata copy is one way only, from
PSP to the
PS3. in another word, no matter how well you played on your
PS3 the game won't sync back the savedata to your
PSP. Further more, nothing can be unlocked during the game play of Dreamy Theater. If you want to use your own save data you should play the whole project diva game on your
PSP first, and come back after you have unlocked everything.
