I can also delete the ps3 update folder from my external eventhough i haven't installed the game data yet in my internal? im playing my games through external..

What you can also do regarding patches/updates is after you install them, copy those files over the original game files (make backups first in case you screw up) then delete the game data. This way you're applying the update to the game but not taking up any extra space with game data or having to store the update package.

it would better to just rip the games and make it a smaller size you save save on the internal while winrar compression is just to save bandwidth which lots of people shouldn't have a problem with but you pick what you want do. i would still like your uploades

It's an interesting idea but quite risky as you stated. It's not always easy, plus it's time consuming to find every altered file and delete/replace it. I didn't actually try it before so I don't know the steps to do. If you care to add them, I'll gladly add them to the Tut and give you credits +Rep!

He's probably gonna rip extra languages then do a downsampling for games to save more space while loosing minimum quality. I say they'll be very popular :D

The update folder is completely USELESS. I delete it once I downloaded the game and after I install it from int/ext WITHOUT any problem. It doesn't contain ANY game data so don't worry about it

if i delete the updater folder will that vget rid of the updates so i can jailbreak

What? No! You can't delete a Firmware update...those are included FW updates in case your FW is old...What's your current FW?
