How To Setup xLink Kai For Your PS3
xLinkKai is a program that allows you to play online with other players connected to xLink Kai if you have a game that supports LAN. You must have your PS3 connected to to the same router of the PC running xLinkKai. The PS3 must also be connected via a wired connection, or else it won't work.
What You Will Need
-PC connected to internet by Ethernet cable
-PS3 connected to internet by Ethernet cable
Download and install xLink Kai for your operating system.
MUST BE VERSION 126.96.36.199 (Other versions won't work)
(Skip this step if you have Windows XP)
xLink Kai assigns an IP address to your PS3 based on the MAC address found on the PS3 network card by the xLinkKai DHCP server. Before it can do this, we need to make sure you are running it with sufficient privileges for it to be able to execute these commands.
Go to the folder where you installed xLink Kai and look for these three files.
Now, you're going to right click kaiLaunch.exe and go to Properties. Then click on the Compatability tab at the top, and change the Compatability Mode to run on Windows Vista (Service Pack 2). Also make sure Run this program as administrator is checked.
Now repeat the procedure for the other two files in the folder named kaiEngine.exe and kaiUI.exe.
Register an account on the xLink Kai website, don't select any of the consoles specified if you plan to use xLink Kai with PS3 only. Only fill out forms marked with an asterisk (*). Make sure you check to check your email for confirmation, otherwise you won't be able to activate your account.
Make sure your PS3 is connected to the router that your PC is connected to via Ethernet cable. Don't forget to configure your PS3 in the internet connection setttings.
Go to Start Menu > All Programs > xLink Kai > Configure Kai
You can choose to enter you xLink Kai username (XTag) into the default xTag field and your password so you can automatically login by selecting Auto Login.
Auto Open Chat should be checked on.
If Auto Detect doesn't work for you, under network adapter, select the network adapter that your are using for you wired connection. The network card should not be your wireless card, therefore the name should not include "WLAN, WIFI, or Wireless".
Click OK after you are done to apply the changes.
Start kaiEngine.exe, login and you should see this menu.
Now click on the magnifying class at the top-left to switch into diagnostics mode. This will allow xLink Kai to detect your PS3.
Check to make sure the settings on the left say what mine says. If it says Network Reachable: No, that means you need to forward port 30000 on your router.
Check out this website for how to forward ports if you don't know how.
Also add exceptions to windows and/or your router's firewall for xLink Kai if you are having connection problems.
Now click on the folder icon which is above the settings on the left.
Now that you are in diagnostics mode, turn on your PS3 (xLink Kai can't detect your PS3 if it was already on before you started started the program).
You should see your PS3's MAC Address displayed on the left and it should be blue. If it's red, you've done something wrong, probably not connected to your computer correctly.
Make a test connection to your PS3, it should show a connection error (Error 80710102) This means that it is working. Leave all options set to automatic.
Join a Game room in xLink Kai by clicking the globe icon in the top left. Go into the Playstation 3 section, choose a game you'd like and make sure there are actually users in the lobby before you start complaining that it's not working (their user names will appear at the right).
Then just go to the LAN section of the game on your PS3, and click refresh too see a list of lobbies. You can create one too and other users can join your lobby.

Q: I can't connect my PS3 with a wired cable! How can I play online with a wireless connection?
A: Use XBSLink, as xLink Kai does not support wireless connections.
XBSLink Hosting + Tutorial ~ Noob Friendly ~ <--- Tutorial
Q: How come it won't work?
A: You need to have version 188.8.131.52 of xLink Kai. Make sure port 30000 is forwarded. Also make sure you turned on xLink Kai BEFORE you turned on your PS3. Your PS3 must be connected to the same router that your PC is connected to via an ethernet cable; WiFi won't work. If the MAC address described in Step 7 is NOT in Blue, then your PS3 won't be able to use xLink Kai. Go back and fix it.
Q:How do I add people as friends?
A: Look for their name on the right side of the xLink Kai screen and click the icon beside their name to add them. Confirm this in the box on the left by clicking the corresponding icons. They will appear as offline until they add you to their friends list as well.
Q: Do I need custom firmware to use this?
A: No, you can use it on official or custom firmware.
Q: Will this interfere or cause problems with PSN?
A: Not at all, just make sure in your PS3 settings that your PS3 isn't trying to automatically connect to PSN.

I dont really see a difference from mine.
There's another PS3iso user who made another thread before you too. But in the end both of our goals is to guide people and get more people to play on xLink Kai so why try to hijack the thread I spent time making by posting your own guide inside of mine?

I am not hijacking anything. I am letting you know because other people might say something. It was just a heads up. Otherwise, its a good tutorial.
