    Fceu Version 1.3

Shinhalsafar's port of FCEU for the PS3. Emulate the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) on your PlayStation 3. This version is packaged for 3.55 jailbreak.

    Snes9x (Version 4.4.9)

squarepusher2's Snes9x is a Super Nintendo emulator ported for the PS3!
    Spoiler:
    Build 4.4.9 (13-04-2011)
Custom Soundtrack support - select a song/album/playlist from the XMB Music category - music can be played both in-game and from within the menu.
Added USB/Bluetooth headset support - sound gets output through the headset.
Fixed Super Mario RPG level-up freeze.
Fixed Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island save file selection screen graphical glitch.
    Some filebrowser fixes
    Added 5x scale option.
Updated Maister Pong - now with sound effects, scoring, two-player support, nice gameplay mechanics, etc.
    Build 4.4.8 (04-03-2011)
Very big performance and lag reduction optimizations. The previous builds were indeed very laggy - this should be a very big improvemen
    t on that front.
You can now use two shaders at once - we call this 'Custom Scaling/ Dual Shader' mode. A scaling factor (from 1 to 4x) can be specified
. Some great graphical effects can be achieved by combining shaders.
Shader presets have been added. Shader presets are configuration files that automatically configure the settings for 'Shader 1', 'Shader 2', 'Hardware Filtering Shader 1', 'Hardware Filtering Shader 2', 'Scaling Factor' and 'Overscan'. You can create your own shader presets
    - they are just plain-text files stored in USRDIR/presets.
Controllers can now be individually configured - you can specifically configure the controls for a controller connected to a specific port/number.
Cheat input has been made less buggy. With the 'New' control scheme - L2 + Analog Stick Right Down will still input cheats with the OSK, but it will add a generic label (simply the cheatcode itself as a label) until you rename this generic label by triggering the action 'Input Cheatlabel'. The 'New' control scheme has this hooked up to 'L2 + R2 + Analog Stick Right - Down'. This can of course be reconfigured to any button / button-combo you see fit.
Fixed interlaced games like Rise Of The Robots - were displaying glitched graphics before in version 4.4.7.
Added a homebrew SNES game by Themaister. Game logic is semi-hooked up - paddle works, ball bounces off the paddle, just scoring has to
be added. Anyway, this has mostly been a 3-day exercise in SNES ASM. This is just for illustrative purposes.
Added some shader variations and some new shaders - HQ4x, 4xBR - courtesy of Jacaraca.
    Build 4.4.7 (13-03-2011)
    Added new shaders (waterpaint-normalcontrast, waterpaint-normalcontrast-scanline,
    waterpaint-highcontrast, waterpaint-highcontrast-scanline, crt-highgamma)
Optimized crt, crt-highgamma shaders - both run now at 60fps at 1920x1080.
    Reduced lag.
Fixed Turbo Mode toggling - works the same now as in 4.4.4.
Fixed RSound bug with Windows OSes.
    Fixed L2 button mapping issue.
    Build 4.4.6 (16-02-2011)
HD version and Normal version merged into one - there are now HD shaders that do the same as the previous HD version. * HD shaders (which upscale the resolution to 512x448) instead of hacked HD version. '4xSoft-HD' is currently the best out of the HD shaders - more to come. * The HD version in version 4.4.5 ran in interlaced mode - with the HD shaders, you can run in either progressive or interlaced mode.
Fixed PAL50/PAL60 automatic activation in 576i/p mode.
Fixed Rise Of The Robots interlacing issues - other games which use interlaced mode also corrected.
Fixed Multiplayer controls - only player 1 worked.
    Build 4.4.5 (14-02-2011)
New HD Version - every game runs at the SNES' high-resolution mode (512x448 interlaced mode). Try this with the right shader on (4xSoft) and this can make the games look beautiful. Both progressive (1080p/720p/480p/576p) and interlaced modes (480i/576i/1080i) work with this - try interlaced for best results.
4xSoft combined with this HD version also beautifies the pseudo hi-res transparent background layers in Kirby's Dreamland 3.
Triple Buffering option added - enabled by default. Faster graphics/shader performance with triple buffering turned on - some potential input lag with triple buffering on - turn it off in case you experience problems of this nature.
USB/Bluetooth mouse can be used now for Mouse/Super Scope games.
    Primal Rage works again.

in-game and from within the menu.
Added USB/Bluetooth headset support - sound gets output through the headset.

Added Genesis FM/PSG volume level settings.

FBANext is a native port on the Xbox 360 and PS3 Platforms.
    Capcom CPS-1 / Capcom CPS-2 / Capcom CPS-3 Cave / Neo Geo / Sega System 16 / Toaplan / Taito / Psikyo 68EC020 Plus Other Misc Great Arcade Systems
    Spoiler:
    Changelog:r435
    (Changes since r424)
(PS3) Some minor performance improvements and some more lag reduction (CPS3/Sega System 16) - other drivers can show similar improvements as well
(PS3) Street Fighter III: Second Impact widescreen toggling has been fixed
(PS3) D-pad navigation moves one position down/up like before
(PS3) Dip switches now configurable in in-game menu
    Changelog r424
    Added waterpaint-normalcontrast.cg, waterpaint-normalcontrast-scanline.cg, waterpaint-highcontrast.cg, waterpaint-highcontrast-scanline.cg shaders.
Optimized crt.cg shader – now runs at 60fps (fullspeed) at 1080p (1920×1080). Also added crt-highgamma.cg.
Texture references used – far faster graphics code as a result. Also adapted refreshwithalpha so that it looks the same as it did before without texture references.
Added all the shaders added inbetween r423 and the custom versions
Replaced inlineASM in burnint.h with intrinsic so that it can be compiled with SNC. Also commented out little endian functions in blargg_endian.h to get SNC to work.
Commented out all exceptions and try – catch blocks in files such as ticpp.cpp and others – SNC by default works with exception support disabled – also exceptions have performance overhead – commenting out the exceptions and the try-catch blocks for both GCC and SNC increased performance.
Got rid of virtual function call overhead in classes that inherited from a base class with virtual function definitions – such as the Cellframework Audio driver, and FBA’s aud_audio.h itself. Led to measurable performance increases and lag reduction.
Better button responsiveness – in PS3/run.cpp, for some reason button input was only being registered one out of every three frames – commented that out. There were tons of other branches in the interface code that are unnecessary – checking for bDrivOkay for instance in video_interface and vid_psgl – that were commented out for PS3. This could similary be applied to FBA 360 for some performance gains – same with the elimination of virtual function call overhead.
Menu scrolling with the D-pad/analog stick in the ROM browser/settings menu/ingame menu by pressing and holding directional keys.
Shaders now receive three additional input params for the main vertex program (main_vertex). This allows us to offload some more calculations from the fragment shader which leads to increased performance.
Added back ability to go to Service menu by pressing R3 button.
Rygar driver colors are restored again to normal colors – during the update to FBA beta, a swapword statement was left out.
Makefile works now for either SNC or GCC. Change CELL_BUILD_TOOLS to set either of the two. The best speed I currently get with GCC for some odd reason.
Makefile and preprocessor statements in the code now let you compile the source and have it detect your SDK version automatically.
There is a special debug mode you can activate (CELL_DEBUG_CONSOLE = 1) where a Telnet server will be running in the background which you can telnet into – in this mode, you can track variables and/or dump screenshots on the HDD.
Better speed, far less lag as a result of all of the above.
    r423 Custom v3
Big reduction in lag – also a far more stable FPS as a result of this (due to elimination of virtual function call overhead when a class would inherit from a base class with virtual functions). You will notice the biggest improvements with fighting games for CPS2/CPS3 – but overall all games should benefit from this.
A new shader – tv-highcontrast-HD. This basically mimics the look of a high-end CRT monitor. Set ‘Hardware Filter’ to Linear and select a resolution lower than or equal to 1440×1080 to get the best results (if you have triple buffering on – else it’s 960×1080 or lower for best results)
Fixed: A hang/freeze would occur after selecting a shader and then changing the resolution.
Fixed: You can now go back and forwards in the list when selecting a shader – press Left to go back one entry in the shader list, and press Right to go forward.
    r423 Custom v2
    New input code
HD shaders - as with SNES9x PS3, 4xSoft-HD looks the best
    r423 Custom
    WHAT'S NEW:
Core - updated fm.c fmopl.c with to match latest mame.
PS3 - added triple buffer option (check options to toggle). Triple buffering will be stored in xml
    CUSTOM CHANGES:
A much faster graphics driver - try CPS3 and CPS2 games and feel and see the difference in terms of speed. Most of the input lag noticed by experienced arcade players should be mostly gone now.
Triple-buffering is hardforced to be enabled by default - together with the new graphics driver makes the framerate very fast.
Sysutil OSD is used for some parts of the In-Game menu, such as saving a savestate, saving a button preset, or generating a clrmame.dat file, and so on.
    r422 Custom v1
Turned on triple buffering - led to a helpful speed increase and audio/video lag reduction when transitioning screens. Especially noticeable in Street Fighter 3rd Strike and other CPS3 games.

    Dev_Blind

jjolano's "dev_blind" mounts the PS3 flash (dev_flash) with read / write access; you'll find a mirrored, writeable copy of /dev_flash under /dev_blind. Exercise caution when using this; dev_flash is vital to the operation of the console and writing to or messing with dev_flash can be dangerous. (& can brick PS3's if you dont use it properly!)

    Comgenie Awesome Filemanager

This particular application allows you to DIRECTLY manage your files on your PS3 console itself, actually looking at them, moving them, copying them. Much like you can do via full functioning FTP, but now on the PS3 itself, rather than using your PC and the FTP program. (PLEASENOTE when the screen is blue you can only write in the USB & game modes.... BUT once you press the select button the screen will change & when the screen is red it will be in copy or delete mode everywhere!) (& can brick PS3's if you dont use it properly!)

    Coldboot Installer

Coldboot Installer is a small app to easily install your custom coldboot .raf and .ac3 files from USB000 (Slot furthest right).
You need to create a folder on the root of your USB stick called coldboot. This where you place your custom coldboot files.
Coldboot Installer can also back up you current coldboot files.
It backs them up in the app's USRDIR and to the root of USB000 if present with a .bak extention.
    ***** BACKUP/RESTORE COLDBOOT FILES *****
Press SELECT to BACKUP the CURRENT coldboot files
(This will overwrite your previous backup)
Press START to RESTORE coldboot files from BACKUP
****** INSTALL NEW COLDBOOT FILES ******
Press CROSS to INSTALL new coldboot.raf and AC3 files
Press SQUARE to INSTALL a new coldboot.raf
Press CIRCLE to INSTALL new coldboot AC3 files
(This could brick PS3's if you dont use it properly!)

I DID NOT MAKE ANY OF THESE APPS, BUT I THANK THE DEV'S WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE, WITHOUT THEM THE PS3 WOULDN'T BE THE SAME!

Hope this post answers alot of questions & helps alot of people who needed help with CFW & apps on the PS3, i will add more to this post at a later date as & when new stuff is released
    THANKS FOR READING

great tuts for newbie like me XD
i was just wondering how to copy some wallpaper to PS3 without PSP
    +rep

need a little help here...PROBLEM SOLVED
i have CFW 3.41, hermes payload V4D and rogero manager v8.1 already installed (my friend set it up for me some time ago)
so i skipped to the FTP setting (step 6)
i have installed the openPS3FTP on my PS3 and filezilla on my PC (i set the listening port to 21, which showed up when i run PS3FTP)
i ran the PS3FTP and i got these text...

    ""
    OpenPS3FTP by jjolano (Twitter: @jjolano)
    Version 1.5

Status : Listening on port: 21

Note: IP Address retrieval is experimental
you can always find your console's IP Address by navigating to Network Settings -> Status
    ""
(here, i can't press any button except Home, is that alright?)
no visible IP Address there. so i pressed Home, and check the network status list
there i got the IP Address, that is 169.254.30.123 with subnet mask 255.255.0.0
    connection method: wired connection (checked)

then i start filezilla and input
    ip address 169.254.30.123 port : 21
administration password : (i left it blank, and tried "openbox" but neither are working)

    all i got is
    Error, couldn't connect to server
    message

is there a step i missed, or i set it wrong? @___@
    please help, thanks

    **addition**
tried another ethernet cable, still not working (the cables, 1 cross and 1 straight, tested working when i connect my PC to laptop and modem)
tried changing my PC IP to 169.254.30.1, subnet 255.255.0.0..... not working (it was 192.168.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 the first time i try this)
tried changing PC's ip configuration to Automatic... not connecting at all (identifying forever)

    **addition v.2**
i followed chrisr9191's tutorial and setting up bridge connection between my local connection 1 (which is online) and local connection 2 (to PS3)
now the IP Address appears when i run the openPS3FTP
    it said
"Status : Listening on IP: 192.168.254.2 Port: 21"
so i run the filezilla once again and put IP : 192.168.254.2 port : 21
    and i get this message
Protocol error: Unknown protocol identifier (0x50 0x50 0x48). Most likely connected to the wrong port.
    Connection to server closed.

    not working....
then i changed the port to 14147 (as per filezilla's forum help section)
but i got the same error message as before :
Error, could not connect to server
Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds

just what the hell is still wrong here? @__@

    **addition v.3**
it's finally working!! T____T *manly tears*
i found out that the problem lies on the filezilla i used
i switched to RushFTP, set the connection and it works!
maybe i'm just using different version of FileZilla from what DeanR1977 (or other) use
but that doesn't really matter anymore :9

i'll leave this post as it is, in case anybody after me encounter the same problem
    cheers
