I followed the tutorial and skipped Step 7 for advanced. All went well and had no errors. The next thing I wanted to do was try a game. I used Filezilla to copy over Thor. I went to the /dev_hdd0/game directory and created a dir called LAUN12345, in that dir I made a dir called GAMEZ. I copied from my pc to this directory, moving the dir BLES01069. After it was done, I started Multiman and it saw the game. I tried to run it but it said I need 3.60 FW and I am running 3.55. It asked if I wanted to edit the file to 3.55 and I said yes. Now when I try to run it, it does nothing. I think I must be close but I am virgin new at this. Please help...

At the moment mate we cant get on PSN or online (unless i am wrong? i haven't checked at the moment, not had enough time for me PS3 lately & need to repair a YLOD PS3 & also remarry a Blu-ray drive on my other PS3) Until we get the keys for OFW 3.61 so we can make a new CFW or run the newer games out! So we cannot get online yet! But hopefully in the very very near future we can get back online again :rock:

hello DeanR1977, Great tut and I had a question. I just got a PS3 Slim 160GB. It is on OFW 3.50. I know it says in your tut that you need to upgrade to OFW 3.55 then install the CFW. But I remember reading awhile back that doing this the Slim owners were bricking their PS3. Will upgrading to CFW 3.55 brick slim models or is it working on all models? Or should I just copy the CFW to a usb and upgrade it from the OFW 3.50 XMB usb option?

its always a good practice that if you are 3.55 less FW than always go for Offcial 3.55 and than do cfw from recovery mode

Thanks Romaan i was not around to answer that question & i agree totally with your answer.... "ALWAYS" Update to 3.55 OFW, then install 3.55 CFW :D

I am just glad to help others out using this guide & i am sure alot of people are very happy after using this tutorial
