Ps3jig tutorial step by step!!! Get into service mod!!! using the psp!!! This is a tutorial on how to use ps3jig on ps3 using a psp to get into service mod and how to get back into retail mod again
you will need a:
psp with cfw.
usb memory stick.
usb cable.
ps3 with any firmware EXCEPT FIRMWARE 3.56.
psp memory card ect.
I am using 3.55 official firmware with this, i don't know if it works with custom firmware.
1. download ps3jig from www. ps3-hacks .net after you have downloaded the file open it and put the ps3jig folder in the game folder on your psp memory stick at PSP/GAME/
2. turn the ps3 off by the wall so there is no life in the ps3.
3. connect the ps3 and psp together using a usb cable and run the ps3jig on the psp.
4. turn on the ps3 by the wall so the red light shows THEN WAIT FOR 3 SECONDS then turn the ps3 on and hit the eject button strait after.
5. your ps3 will turn itself off then just turn it on and your ps3 should take a maximum of 20 seconds to come on then your in service mode
if you want to get out of service mode just get a file named Lv2diag.self (included in the download) put it on a memory stick ON ITS OWN then put it in you ps3 then restart the ps3.
when i tried this method it worked strait away my psp was running 5.00m33-6 and my ps3 was using firmware 3.55
DO NOT TRY THIS ON PS3 WITH FIRMWARE 3.56 YOU WILL GET STUCK IN SERVICE MOD!!
Please note i didn't create this file i'm just providing a step by step tutorial.
I have heard that this can downgrade your ps3 firmware but i haven't tested it.
this should not harm your psp or ps3 in anyway but im not responsible if you brick your ps3/psp with this.

PS3ISO Member hey is that 3.55 ofw or 3.55 cfw I'm on kmeaw going back to hermes v4b no laser can't run many games on kmeaw with laser broke

Contemporary Umm more info should be written. I do not understand what files to put in the psp and what do I do exactly with my psp, detail should be in order.

Contemporary hey will this work on a 1gen ps3 20gig. thats been down for 2 years(probaly more actually i got it when they 1st came out way back when) with the blinking red lights. the firmware is way old so its not 3.56 or higher. its way below!!! can someone plz tell me!!!! plz plz plz!!!!

Contemporary Yeesh, sorry to see the Poll. Thanks for posting the tutorial. It didn't work out for me, but I seem to be a special case, as I get everything to run just fine, save for the fact my PS3 refuses to enter service ode, regardless. In any case, thank you foagain r posting a tutorial.

It should work but because you are using the psp you might have to do it multiple times (i think my record it 25 tries lol) but it should work if you have a firmware less than 3.56

PS3ISO Supporter thank you for this tutorial! it works! i brick my console ps3 slim from converting my dex console back to cex,...and it brick but im so lucky that i have a psp and i read this tutorial just hold the power switch on the slim ps3 and then plug the ac cord and then push the eject button quickly and boom it turns on and off using ps3jig and then put the usb with ps3 pup and lvl2 then boom i recovered my ps3 from brick!
