Default Guide: How to Change PS3 Fonts on the PlayStation 3 Console

With the release of PS3 homebrew applications such as JaicraB's PS3 USB Custom Firmware Loader v0.3 and stoker25's Ps3 Registry Editor many have started modifying aspects of their PlayStation 3 console, and today Nyleveia detailed how to change the PS3 fonts.

The process is actually quite simple, to quote:

"Simply take your favorite TTF font and make two copies of it, named as follows:

    SCE-PS3-SR-R-LATIN
    SCE-PS3-SR-R-LATIN2

And place these on your PlayStation 3 flash in the directory, /dev_flash/data/font/ overwriting the original fonts, then you simply need to go to theme settings and change the font to either rounded or pop to enjoy your new system font!"

I take it this can only be done using the USB FW loader? I've got the LBP dynamic theme and managed to find a copy of the proper font used in the game/boxart (it's called Chalet London 1980). Was wanting to replace the font permanently, but can't get write access to /dev_flash/data/font...

What am I supposed to open JaicraB's PS3 USB Custom Firmware Loader v0.3 with? And do I download the other one?

    Sorry, I know I'm a noob!

ive tried this with 5 different fonts (all TTF), all causing boot problems every time...it restores no problem, but ive yet to get a font of my choosing to work...any other results for anyone else "brave" enough to try?
