    Proceed to STEP 1.

STEP 1: NAND/NOR backup (only for those that do NOT have a backup/dump):
    Spoiler:
    0. At least one full PS3 game must be stored on the PS3's internal HDD before proceeding. If you have none then the game Dark Sector is only 1.2GB big. Get it. Copy it to your fat32 USB. Then load MultiMan, go to File Manager, and copy it to: PS3\dev_hdd0\GAMES\

    1. Plug in a USB (formatted to FAT32) to your PS3 on the right-most port (the other ports do NOT work for this)
    2. Run multiman from XMB
    3. Press Select + Start once in multiman (to access file manager)
    4. Double-click on PS3 Root then dev_hdd0 then GAMES then "your stored game" (e.g.BLES/BLUS/BCES/12345) then PS3_DISC.SFB
    5. Press SELECT once
    6. Press START once
    7. Selet No, Select No, select Yes ("Do you want to export FLASH memory to a file?")
    8. Wait until it completes. Exit (circle), unplug USB and copy the file to your computer somewhere very safe.

Done! This file will allow you to fix your PS3 in case you ever brick it.

Yes gstar is right. The memory dump is a crucial step, just in case the process goes wrong and it is better to advise users on 3.55 ofw to install 3.55 kmeaw first and make the dump instead of just skipping that step. About multiman and IPFs I think they will understand as it is clearly stated that you need to run multiman in order to make the dump and the toggleqa is a pkg so they should know how to install a pkg and where it is displayed afterwards if they ever played a psn game or installed multiman itself.
The button combo should definitely be there though, people who downgraded need to verify that the thing is on, so I would suggest to add that. A recommendation to check the md5 would be good as well and could save somebody from installing the wrong pup. Links to be coded too, cheers.

    Hello Melo:

You petitioned to make the following edits:
    1. Make it mandatory for those in 3.55 OFW to be on 3.55 CFW in order to make NAND/NOR dump and set QA Flag [done]
    2. Make it mandatory to test the QA Flag throuh the combo in XMB for those on 3.55 CFW [done]
    3. Make it mandatory to check MD5s [done]
    4. Code links [done]

Constructive criticism is always welcome. I added a 3.41 section to this tutorial; feel free to spot anything that needs editing!

It's just perfect now, will +rep you asap. When coding the links, you could place the files at the bottom of each step if you don't want to break the body text, like so:
STEP 3: Download Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05* and rename the file to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put it in USB\PS3\UPDATE\ . Run MD5 checker* and check the PUP matches the MD5 91fb63b42b9d3e24a29478a71524de64
    Code:
    Downloads:
    Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05: http://www.mediafire.com/?m1kgzqp2kiwvvve
    MD5 checker: http://www.mediafire.com/?anc35d44rle54p1
Also, about the source, you can just type tortuga cove instead of the clickable link. Thanks, cheers.

    Hello imtoocool:

If, and only if, you have a NAND/NOR backup and have enabled QA Flag/Dehashed, then yes, you can go straight to Rogero 4.30 (Steps 3 & 4). If not, then you need to back up your NAND/NOR and enable QA Flag/Dehash (Steps 1 & 2).

    Few recommendations for the FAQ.

TB & Cobra - mention the need to remove dongle.

DEX CFWs - They need to revert back to CEX first.

Can I play on PSN after I upgrade? - mention unbanning is temporary and you will get banned again.

All my games work on my current firmware, will they ALL work on Rogero 4.30 v2.05 - Almost all PSN games will work after resigning. Homebrews may or may not work after resigning.
Clean PS3 games will work fine.
Patched/fixed PS3 games may work as is, if not delete gamedata & update. If it still doesn't work, replace fixed files with originals.

Do I need to Set/Reset QA Flag/Dehash? - If your on 3.55cfw yes, if your on 3.41 you will be updating to 3.55cfw before follow the tutorial, so you'll dehash on 3.55cfw.

I'm still confused with "resigning".... - No need to spend hours reading, simply recommend Beharii's 4.21 tutorial.

Can I update my games? - It is safe to update games.
You can update game when it asks or through multiMAN or obtaining pkgs from other sources (ie Aldo's tools, other websites etc) and installing.
One may discourage updating through the normal game interface on the grounds that one may mistake a FW update.
