    thx for the guide

Yes you can use Condors updater to get into recovery.
At step 7, perform the combo to make sure the flag is still set.
If you can see Edy view, install packages, debug settings, then it means the flag is still set (ie it is still dehashed).
If you don't see them, then you should dehash by running QA_toggle.

Also have made backup and toggle q.a succsessfully. Pleaseeee helppp why its showing this message? I am stuck on 3.55 cfw rogero.
Where do you see that message?
Did you perform the combo over network settings to check if the flag is set?
Did you rename the update and place in PS3/UPDATE?
Are you updating using recovery menu?
Did you perform the MD5 checks?

I saw that message when i was in a recovery mode also i check in the xmb afterwards but the same message showed.
Yes i perform the combo over network settings and checked the flag set.
Yes I renamed the update and placed in PS3/UPDATE. same i did before updating to OFW 3.55 and then to CFW 3.55
Yes I am updating using recovery menu. i have updated to OFW 3.55 and then to rogero CFW 3.55 v2 via recovery menu
Yes I have perfored the MD5 checks and all were matched.

please advise whats wrong? i have done everything according to your steps. i think i must go back to OFW 3.55 from rogero CFW 3.55 v3.7 (CURRENT) via recovery menu and then to rogero CFW 4.30 v2 via recovery menu. in short, 3.55 ofw to cfw 4.30 v2. but your advise would be great.

    Thanks

No, the correct method remains that you go from 3.55cfw v3.7 to 4.30cfw v2.00, in fact I've done it myself without any problems.
The not applicable error your gettings seem to be with the QA flag. I would suggest reinstalling the pkg and then running the program again untill you see edyviewer, install packages, debug settings.
Try it a few times and the update must be through recovery and you must be able to see Edyviewer etc... when using the combo to check.

Dehash (QA_toggle) first and then go to 3.55OFW. Make sure you check the 3.55OFW md5 (ca595ad9f3af8f1491d9c9b6921a8c61) and make sure you confirm whether flag is set by running combo.
Whilst on rebug, run the QA_toggle and confirm the flag is set by running the combo over network settings and being able to see Edyviewer, install packages, debug settings.
Then you can safely update to 3.55OFW using recovery menu.
You don't need to do anything on 3.55OFW, once your on 3.55OFW, follow the guide from the start.
On 3.55cfw rogero v3.7, you need to confirm whether or not the flag is still set by doing the combo stated earlier, if edyviewer etc... shows up after combo, then there is no need to re-run QA_toggle, but if it doesn't show up, then re-run QA_toggle and try combo again.

The point being that on both 3.55cfw rebug & 3.55cfw rogero, the flag must be set.

I don't use external but could you tell me how exactly your backing up your game?
    Perhaps I can help.

You should first try to run your fixed games as is.
Although the latest firmwares require the games to be clean, some fixed games will still work.
A moderator over at Tortuga-cove called Windrider stated that one should place the original eboot in the game and then update using MultiMan (ie triangle > update > install pkgs) or use aldostools game updater.
So I would recommend doing the first of what Windrider stated, place the original eboot & then update using Multiman.
I myself don't have any fixed games to try it with.

    Your welcome and congrats

As far as getting on PSN 'safely', well Sony can detect CFW and MultiMan.
Going online on CFW is not really safe but many do it anyways.
    My advice is, don't auto-login.
When you start your PS3, you should not be signed in, you should first start MultiMan, then select game and start it, then from in game you should log into PSN.
Similarly if you wanted to change game, you should first log out, then boot up game and in game sign back into PSN.

You could try installing PSNnja v4 and selecting the first 3options, but you would need to disable clear history/logs in Multiman prior to that.
I myself do have PSNnja v4 as I wanted to test it, but it doesn't do exactly what we want it to do, offers no real protection.
It does seem to cause some problems with Raptr by not updating stats. Djfunky from PS3Hax that tested it with me told me he was experiencing problems with throphies not updating after installing PSNnja v4.
Up to you whether to install it or not, I do have it but I recognise it offers no real protection.

I do always do what I stated, in regards to signing in PSN once in game because our testing (djfunky & I), we found that it if one of us was logged into PSN and using MultiMan, our status would report us as MultiMan lol.

So you can go online as is, I have played on PSN without any problems, not often though because I'm usually playing Black Ops 2 on xbox 360.
Ah and I highly recommend you stay away from playing Black Ops 2 online on PS3, that will definetely ban you.
Many people have been banned playing Black Ops 2 on cfw.

To actually connect to PSN, you don't need anything, connect as you would normally connect (but from in game menu).

Thanks so much, for this wonderful tutorial.
After un-bricking my PS3 today, I searched for the tutorial to upgrade to 4.x and thought "Ok, here we go again, another hunt for pesky instructions and whatnot" but found your tutorial and followed it to the T and I'm playing AC III on 4.3 as we speak, so thanks again my man.

Quick question, I de-hashed the PS3 (still don't know why they call it de-hash), ran the combo (while on 3.55 CFW Rogero) and finally saw Edy Viewer (I kid you NOT, had I done this simple step a month ago, I wouldn't have had a bricked PS3 in the first place!!!) and the rest.
But now on 4.30v2 I ran the combo again just for kicks and nothing happens. Is this the "intended" behavior? Should I de-hash again on 4.30v2? Or just let it be? (As I said, I don't really understand what setting the QA Flag is all about and I think I read about it on the Ps3dev wiki a while ago but didn't understand fully maybe).
