For step 6 in the cex to dex im sure you should use recovery mode to install the first dex firmware as i have read that if you boot to xbm after flashing dex nor.bin you will brick..........also if you go higher than dex 3.55 will you loose q&a flag?

This works with Nand consoles as well? If so, i'll be trying it later. + rep

Is it safe to go back to CEX when I didn't QA-Flagged my ps3 prior being converted to DEX?

And it didn't have the part in your tutorial wherein QA-Flagging in CEX.

If you don't qa_flagging your console before prepare FSM Dongle if you want revert back
there's a tutorial how to unbrick when do process DEX > CEX search in this site

i never use recovery mode when i convert Console to DEX
and no qa_flag still stay even you install 4.21dex

most people brick when they revert back to CEX (they didnt qa_flagged their console before)

ur fine if u install rogero's cfw when reverting back to cex. it doesn't have syscon checks.

Oh ok. I presume this semi-brick has some solutions on how to unbrick a console? Like ones that doesn't need additional hardware?

Yea. I read it a bunch of times... Just wanted to verify because every tutorial I have seen on converting nands requires linux. Anyone done this tut on a nand console yet? Thanks again. Will probably be trying this later on this evening.

So i need to install the QA flag again after downgrading my ps3 4.21 dex firmware to 3.55 dex to have no problems in coming back to 3.55 kmeaw?
