Hi all,
Thought I'd post my first tutorial. This is basically a rip off of my post here
TUTORIAL - PS3usercheat PKG Guide - For Non-Dongle Users With GAME LIST UPDATED v2.3
I was interested in a possible screenshot app for the PS3, but read the opening post of the tutorial above which states that ps3usercheat doesn't work for True Blue users. Anyway I thought I'd experiment, and yes the cheat side of the pkg doesn't work, but the screen capture sure does!
Here's a screenshot I did this morning while watching the opening to the Olympics!

Okay, so here's what I did.
1. Install PS3usercheat without the TB dongle inserted (probably works inserted as well)
2. Load game through Multiman
3. Run PS3usercheat
4. Start game
5. Once in game, hit PS button, head to Photo, and then Save Screenshot.
6. Hit X to take your screenshot
The PS3 will then save a PNG file in to a folder with the month and year and a thumbnail of the image, and the resolution of the photo will be the same resolution as the game is running, complete with date, time, size and name of the game. Awesome!
You can find a copy of the pkg here, upped by me at MF

This is a great alternative to taking screenshots in say Multiman as well. I know Multiman has it's own screenshot feature, however the file size for each pic is around 5MB and the format is .RAW which I believe isn't able to be viewed by default with the PS3's XMB photo gallery.
Just be mindful that some games do not automatically pause when you hit the PS button to get to the XMB overlay screen, but some do.
The game's that don't pause are great for taking screenshots of some action! Unfortunately some games pause as soon as you hit the PS button so when you attempt a screenshot, you usually get a picture of the paused screen with in-game menu etc.
After selecting the Save Screenshot option in the XMB overlay, the overlay disappears with a small "[X] Save Screenshot" option in the bottom right corner. As soon as you hit 'X', the shot is saved, however the PS3 sometimes takes a while to actually save the image - meaning if you're playing a game it might take a good 5 seconds or so to exit the screenshot option and continue playing.
I haven't tested on Cobra as I don't have one, but if someone could test and post here how they went, that would be great to let others know.
+rep if this helps anybody! Maybe the PS3ISO guys will hold a competition each month, for BEST IN-GAME SCREENSHOT?
cheers
