TUTORIAL - PS3usercheat PKG Guide - For Non-Dongle Users With GAME LIST UPDATED v2.3

jakenastysnake has put together a guide to help get all of the PS3usercheat PKG users started. Remember, this PKG is not compatible with Cobra or True Blue CFW. Now get ready to harness the power of the PS3 scene's first (now free) complete cheat system; well, besides the kick-*** CMP team.

PS3usercheat Tutorial

Many people have requested a tutorial for the PS3usercheat application released by oct0xor. I will attempt to explain how to use this tool in the most simple way possible without skipping over any details. I hope this helps you, and by all means feel free to spread the word.

*Note - Before you ask, this WILL NOT work with True Blue CFW or Cobra CFW. You will need to switch to a compatible CFW of your choice. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be using REBUG 3.55.2. However, the process should remain the same for any popular 3.55 CFW.

STEP 1:
You will need to download the PS3usercheat PKG file from (See Download Link at the bottom of the Tutorial). Hopefully this part is self explanatory, but if not, then continue on...
Unzip the file and put the .pkg file on the root of a USB drive (The package should be named UP0001-CHET11111_00-0000111122223333.pkg)

STEP 2:
Insert your USB drive into the PS3 and find the "Install Package" option under the Game column in the XMB. Install the package. After the package has been installed, the PS3usercheat icon should be visible under Game. This is a good time to insert your PS3 game disc and load up a game from Multiman or whatever you use for a backup manager. Be sure to make note of the game ID before loading it up...you WILL need it.

STEP 3:
Run PS3usercheat (or CU or Code Unique...whatever the hell you wanna call it) and locate your game in the list. It is VERY important that your game ID's match up or this will not work properly. When you find your game, press Circle to view the available cheats. Again, you MUST press Circle to select the cheats that you want. After selecting your cheats, press Start.

STEP 4:
You should be back at the XMB now.

*Note - I noticed that if you try loading your game through the */app_home/PS3_GAME/ option, the cheats might not work and when you quit the game, the cheats will be reset (Ex: God of War III on REBUG 3.55.2). That being the case, I would run the game from the disc icon instead.

Run the game from the disc icon and wait for it to load. Test the cheats out and if they work, great! If not, double check your game ID. Also, BE SURE you run the game from the disc icon instead of */app_home/PS3_GAME/

*Note - @Bitsbubba has suggested switching from HERMES payload to PL3 payload if you have any issues with the games not booting correctly and kicking you back to XMB. Thanks for the info!

Load game with MM, start code unique and hit triangle to exit to xmb, start your game, while in game goto xmb to pics and you will see a screen cap. icon, click icon for a screen capture.

**UPDATE**

@BahumatLord has added this list (actually in alphabetical order) of compatible games for PS3usercheat. If game version isn't listed, just assume 1.00. He has also added a link to get version specific updates for games, and finally, a way to keep your DLC if you decide to downgrade updates. Thanks for this helpful info!

I would suggest that people use PKGView to extract the PARAM.SFO to make sure that it is 3.55 compatible before installing any update.

Advanced Users ONLY - No Beginners
Finally for those people that have DLC but don't want to lose it downgrading. You can either navigate to dev_hdd0/game/*GAMEID*/USRDIR and look for all EDAT files and any folder labeled DLC and move it to a temporary location. Then delete the game data, install the game updates to the desired version, and move those files and directories back. OR just copy that *GAMEID* folder to *GAMEID*BAK, delete the original game data and update to the desired version. Once you are done using PS3Usercheat for that game, you'll delete the *GAMEID* folder (not the game data) then rename the *GAMEID*BAK folder back to *GAMEID* This should be for advanced users only. There are problems that come into play when you do this that affect some games, but not all. Some games don't support DLC on lower versions or you'll have to download and reinstall the DLC and others change the way that save data is encrypted so it's possible to lose your savedata. It is highly suggested that you make a savegame backup BEFORE attempting this. I will not offer game specific support.

Sorry if there's any typos in the list. If you notice Dead Space BLES is listed twice. They are separate entries for the same game disc. One only has a Money code and the farther one down is a more complete cheat list. Any double listings you'll just have to check as you go

If something not working please consider followings
. If cheat is not working please delete game data first and then start.
. if there are games that ur playing have game data and there in ur external hard drive the cheats won't work

Its not on there but its on there website updated feb 28 2012 is when it was on there i think this pkg latest updated was november 9th 2011

unless you can update it on the pkg but its not on there i looked for an hour to be sure but if you can add it ii would be grateful
