psn/ps1 games? ps2 soon?
so it seem that there are patches that allow us to play ps1 games now which i think is awesome! downloading all old rpgs and whatnot! and you dont have to have had the game on psn i believe? which is nice
does this mean we might be able to play backups of ps2 games soon?

Not gonna happen unless you have a backwards compatable ps3. The official ps2 emu will play a few games but not many and will be too buggy on non-bc ps3. If your talking about the psn ps2 games they are encrypted the same way as ps3 games.

damn i dont have a bc ps3 which sucks. hopefully they can get psn ps2 games to work. there were a few i never got around to playing

You might get a cobra dongle but like the other member said it's still too buggy.

If you want to be more informed about the scene, check the ps3devwiki

Well, Don't lose your hope there are already alternative solutions for this:
1. Sony started releasing ps2 classics and there already 10-15 titles on the psn, we'll soon have them I think.
2. Cobra is actually doing a great job, and they're also considering every request, some people already started to talk about ps2 compatibility for non-bc ps3s, so if we push them a little more, I'm sure they will work on ps2 titles. They just fixed 10-15 psp titles for a request.

yeah i figure with the VIta they might put more ps2 games out there... its just tough now that so many downloading sites are down. and since im the US i gotta figure out proxy servers to get games of certain cites that are acctually up

I think that sony is going to release the ps2 as HD titles, and with trophies, they are gonna rock again...
The think is that all the staff downgrades to CFW 3.55 those games...cant friggin wait to play metal gear HD and peace walker (i dont have a psp, so i missed that one)
