PS1 classics aspect ratio issue!
Is anyone else having a problem with the aspect ratio of PS1 classics? I'm playing on a widescreen television, and I switched the upscaling from "full screen" to "normal", which should display the game in it's native 4:3, which is what I want, but game is displaying in almost 3:3 with a slight vertical squish (it should be wider). This is happening on all PS1 classics I've tested, and I've tried everything i can think of to fix it. If anyone can comment on this or offer a solution I would really appreciate it.

I'm having no success searching information about this on this site or anywhere else.
I'm using an NTSC machine, however it's doing it on NTSC versions of the games, in fact it's done it to every PS1 classic I've tested so far, whether NTSC or PAL.
On a possibly related note, I noticed MediEvil PAL came with a PAL to NTSC fix. Perhaps I'll try this just to see if it fixes the problem.
Could it be at all possible that the fixed versions of the PS1 classics are being pre-patched to run on PAL machines, creating the resolution conflict with NTSC machines?
But then that wouldn't explain why I have the same problem with ReactPSN installs, would it? Could ReactPSN be patching the edats or rap files for PAL machines? Surly the developer wouldn't have written a script for a PAL patch without also writing one for NTSC users.

Nothing about it? Alright, I guess I'll just have to play them from their original discs then.

try it on CRT TV. you will not notice the little black borders.
PS1 games are designed to work on CRT TV like in 90's which is more like 3:2 screen. So dont bother to force the game to work on 4:3 or 16:9 since it far more worst to stretch the image.

CRT TV's display in 4:3, not 3:2. 4:3 is the native aspect ratio of PS1 games. When I play PS1 games from the disc on my HDTV, there is no problem, it's displayed in 4:3. So why are the PSOne Classics creating this issue?
I'll try it on an old 4:3 TV to see if it does actually display in 4:3. Then maybe I'll be able to narrow down the source of the problem.
