Thread: I can't play Blu-Ray movies on Rebug

I have Rebug firmware 3.55.2 with the newest patch applied and I can't play my BR movie. It shows on the XMB but when I tell it to play, it just blackscreens and gives me no choice but to stop playback. I've tried playing it in multiman and Showtime with no success. Any help?

i have heard that ps3 blu ray player is not region free therefore it can only play disc of the ps3's region

It's my own Region (Region 1 and 4: US, Canada, South America) The disc is not original though, it's burnt (not by me, I don't have a BR Drive).

However, I have used burnt BRs before and they have worked just fine. Sadly right now I only have this one as I gifted the others...

Try burning it again or copying it over or rippe it to your pc and then put it on your flash drive

How do I got about ripping it from the PS3? Showtime? Or will FTP do just fine?

there's the issue. the ps3 can't play non finalised disks. as an anti piracy measure.
and I doubt burnt blu-rays work either.
