PS3 will find USB hard drive, but PKG & Multiman wont Issue
I am using 1.15 multiman and Kmeaw
I have a 320gb fat32 formatted USB drive on my ps3 which will get recognised by my ps3.
I moved all my games and PKG's from another usb drive using my pc that was playing up, taking ages to get recognised by my pc or ps3.
I can see all the folders etc using the xmb by using view all in photos or music etc. I can see the drive in comgenie's awesome file manager but i cant see the drive or games in multiman.
I cant see see any pkg's when i click on install packages, but if I click triangle and install all pkg's they then install????
i have tried Kmeaw permission fix, but it only seems to access the internal drive not usb
There is a GAMES folder, I did a straight copy of one hard drive to another, the other drive worked perfectly when it decided to recognise. could take up to 20 minutes with turning on and off and unplugging usb leads. think the usb controller on drive is temperamental.
I can see the drive using multiman file browser, but the the games folder is greyed out, and the usb icon will not show up at all when in game mode.
I think it must be something to do with file attributes win7 gave them while copying over, not sure what yet though, or best way to fix it.
any ideas ? please

the pkgs have to be in the usb root or try to format it (fat32)

PKG files are in root of drive (otherwise they would not install using triangle and install all pkg's? I presume)
The drive is formatted to fat32 (101% sure of this) as it is recognised in the xmb

I got the same problem here man. I got a 1TB external, multiman filemanager recognizes it, i see a bunch of movies through it, but i can't play games on it.
The solution I found was to use multiman filemanager to copy the games from my external to the PS3 internal HDD.
In multiman filemanager there are like two explorers opened at the same time.
Go to the folder of your game in the explorer on the right, like BLES00186 for example. My external appears as usb091, then i enter the GAMES folder, and it appears BLES00186.
On the left explorer u go to hdd0, it's the PS3 hdd, then enter the folder Games. Mine has Games and Gamez, but i'm using multiman or rogero and on both I use gameS.
With the hdd0/games opened on left, hit "O" circle on the ps3 controller on top of BLES00186. That way, it's gonna copy the whole BLES00186 folder in to the folder on the left, in this case GAMES.
That's it, if u find another solution, tell me. My internal is already full and i don't know what to do.

is that usb109 or usb091
Mine came up as usb1XX the last 2 depending on what port i used. but it the preceeding 1 that makes the difference I think.
It needs to to be usb0xx as the 1 means its the second device on the usb controller not the first as it needs to be.
I have fixed my problem now, I was using a Toshiba drive that you could password protect, and it showed up in windows as a cd-rom drive and a hard drive.
The cd-rom portion is on the usb0 and the hard drives as usb1. this will not work as the hard drive needs to be on usb0 to work with multiman or any ather game manager (thats why i could not see my pkg's either.)
Do you have a drive with this facility? if so what make model, I found a program that will remove the cd-rom part and turn the drive into a standard drive. Not sure if it's just for toshiba drives, can link you to it if you need it.
You will loose all data on drive, but now i have a fully working drive for my ps3

That exactly my problem, I have a Toshiba too, can't believe u solve it man.
Please give that link. I think we've got the same drive. The best would be not to lose all the data, because i have almost 850Gb on it. But thanks man, i'm wainting for the link.

I seem to encounter the same problem when I try to use my pspgo as an external. Do you think that software might fix it as well?

sent you the link in a PM, no choice but to loose all the data, unless you backup somewhere else sorry :(

Nope sorry mate this is of no use to you, only works on a toshiba cd+ HD drive.
not sure if there is a workaround for you, as its gonna be a more complex issue for you, same problem yes, but fix is different.
