PS2 back-ups?
Hey PS3iso members,
I've been thinking about PS2 emulating and such.
Also have I been reading the softmod guides on the ps2.
I have a question for you!
Would it be possible on Kmeaw CFW 3.55 to SOFTMOD the PS2 MC savedata.
Like you would on a ps2 with a MC, to play PS2 backups?
Has anybody thought about it?
Second, About the ps1 emu.
The crappy ps3sx emulator that doesnt even work... uses the oldest BIOS ever.
Can't we use the ps1_emu.bin BIOS from the ps3 itself?
Think about it, and discuss.
P.S.
Excuse me for my language, as I'm not english native speaking.

Softmodding a PS2 with FreeMcBoot requires the memory card to be modified... to my knowledge there is no way to hook up a PS2 memory card to a PS3 so I don't see how that'd be possible. On the flipside of that statement though if it is indeed possible to hook up a PS2 mem card to the PS3 then all it would take is an application to do the modding and you'd be good. But you have to keep in mind when you run the FreeMcBoot installer on a PS2 it installs the files needed for your particular model of PS2. You can force it to install the files for all models, but even then it's not cross region compatible. So any FreeMcBoot installer on the PS3 would require specific information about the PS2 you are attempting to mod.
Even in the event that it is possible I really don't see it being any kind of priority since there are already a number of reliable ways to get FreeMcBoot on a memory card and most people would rather see the ps2 emulator the old ps3s used ported to the slim anyway. I mean seriously, if you have a PS3 to run that kind of installer I would think you'd rather just be able to run PS2 games on that PS3 instead of using it to mod an old PS2.
As for the PSX bios file... I don't see how using a newer bios would improve the emulator. I guess you *COULD* use any bios file you wanted, but I'd be shocked if it improved anything.
