Default [ASK] How to Play PS3 Games That Contain "4GB File(s)" in "EXTERNAL HDD"

Simple question, is it possible to play PS3 Games that contain 4GB file(s) in External HDD? If can, how to do that? Maybe this is a stupid question but please answer it. Thanks before.

Wow. Now there are a couple brutal responses. I get being annoyed, but maybe point the cat in the right direction in addition to, or after running him (or her) down.

You mean like telling him to go to the Help Boards?

I guess we figure common sense should have pointed him there in the first place.

You have to understand, us long timers are sick and tired of posts, ever single day and it is multiple times a day of people asking for help on the wrong forums. It would not be so so bad if we did not have a forum entitled "Help" with a description saying "Ask you're questions here".

But, the fact that we do and coupled with the fact that they found their way down the boards to the PS3 section (Which is not at the top of the forums you know), just irritates us that these people cannot seem to ever read the rules of posting, the stickies that say this forum is not for questions, or even look at the help or tutorial forum where their answers are already posted 5 times over.

I would think other members be not only irritated, but insulted that these yahoo's dont even take the time to find the info on their own. That they do not even read a single tutorial or help thread. That they must believe that a lot of us scower news sites and other forums and gain as much knowledge we can, so we can know. But, yet these lazy n00bs cannot even use the "Search" feature.

I guess they figure we have all been reading up on all of this just so we can answer their questions.

Hmmm...that's weird....since I have Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God of War Collection and Tekken 6 running off external hard drive....all of which have a file over 4gb in size. A .psarc file to be exact......and a program called PSARC.exe will extract that file into it individual parts and put them into a folder which then will replace the 1 large psarc file in the PS3_GAME/USRDIR folder. And yes, this works with multiman/Gaia/Rogero with a disk in the drive.

Really...I had no idea that all games don't have psarc files.......that could be why i listed some of the games that do and in no way suggested that all games can be played from external...which is untrue.

You may have noticed that my response was to someone who said that ANY game with a file over 4gb in size HAS to be played from internal......which of course is not true....so I am not sure why you decided to comment????
