    Default Hard Drive Upgrade Issue

Since I purchased my PS Break, my games on my external/internal drive have flood over. So, I purchased a 320GB WD Internal Hard Drive, to replace my 80GB. The installation was easy but when I turn the PS3 on, I received a message.

"The system software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to restart the system." So, I did and I kept rec'ving this message. The message also say, "connect a storage media that contains update version 3.41 and then press start and select buttons at the same time."

I did some checking on the web and ran across this link:

It seems there is no fix, unless I upgrade the firmware and that will make the PS Break useless. I also read if you reinstall 3.41 it will not install all the way or it will freeze the PS3, per the link above.

So, I hope someone know a fix or a work around. The only option I have so far, install the former 80GB back into the PS3 and add internal games...{when I want to play and remove the games when not in use.} <---- This will be a pain to keep ftp games over and over again.

So, I guess there is another downside to jailbreaking your PS3.

    Any suggestions?????

Have you tried installing 3.41 anyways? Or you could get a usb cradle for the hard drive and use it as an external.

Well, after I read what the other users went through.....Would you try to re-install 3.41 and risk freezing your PS3 or not able to use it again because the process made it worst.

I already have two empty external HD and I don't need another one. Some of the games need to be played from an internal drive or the games will not work. This is the reason why I upgraded my PS3 HD and for the storage space.

So, I don't want to experiment and make this issue worst and my option to jailbreak will be over because all the new PS3 in the stores are updated with the new firmware.

No, I didn't format the internal HD because it never gave me that option. Once you install an internal HD, the PS3 will let you format the drive to a Fat32. I watched two Youtube video before I even tried to install the new HD and in each video, the PS3 formatted the new HD to Fat32.

So, this is not causing the issue.

Hey, thanks for the info. I did Google for a second release of a 3.41 but had no success. If you know the link, please send it to me in a message or if anyone known about the 2nd 3.41...please send the link in a message.

    Thanks

    P S 3-Hacks . c o m, DL section

Enjoy, had to update a friends FW so he can play GTA Episodes. Unfortunately he didn't have an internet connection.

Please let me know how this works. I already have the most recent 3.41 so hopefully it won't be an issue when I swap or from your experience if I even try.
