Thread: Help Loading Games From External HDD

I've searched for a while and haven't been able to find a detailed description of what might go wrong when trying to play games off an external USB HDD.

Here's what I've done:

1. Jailbreak with recovery image from HTC Hero - PSFreedom Wiki
2. Installed latest Open Manager
3. Formatted external drive to FAT32
4. Placed a backup of Enslaved in GAMEZ\BLES-00989 (game id from PS3_DISC.SFB)

When I open Open Manager it takes me to the disc menu. I can see the external drive listed at the bottom as USB#2, but I can't find any way to switch to it to choose the game. The USB#2 name is grayed out.

So, did I get the folder structure wrong? Do I need to install something else (I keep seeing mentions of Hermes V3, not sure if that is needed)? Or am I just not smart enough to figure out the button combination to switch to the HDD?

Figured it out, had to take the hyphen out of the value in the SFB.

How to format the external HDD to FAT32? When I try to click format from my Win Vista, option avail are NTFS and exFAT, is exFAT = FAT32?? Thanks
