    You need a PS3 with firmware 3.41
You need a "USB device" to load with the stuff to connect to PS3
    go to w w w . p s 3 - h a c k s . c o m to see if you have compatible device already
Once you have a USB device with the special firmware on it, you plug it into your PS3 (where you connect you controller up to be charged)
Power off PS3 by either switch on back or unplug it from the wall - depends on your ps3 model
Turn power back on/plug it in wall
Immediately hit the ON button on front of PS3, then hit eject about 1 second later
and your booted up in a hacked PS3
now you need to install Backup manager to your PS3
Then either copy your disks to PS3 internal drive or external if one is connected
    and/or
download some games from the net

There are detailed instructions if you search for them, but this is it in a nutshell

No you cant burn a disk and it will play.
You need to get the USB device to put your PS3 into Jailbreak mode to do anything.
If it were simple as copying the disk, it would have been known a long time ago.
PS1 had copy protected disks (First 15 sectors had no CRC bits set - normal CD burners could not do this)
    Dreamcast used GIGA-Disks (1 gig CD's - not reproducible)
Xbox 360 disks had special sectors that cannot be reproduced ( had to flash the firmware to the DVD drive to circumvented this)
    and so on
So chanced are even if you had BluRay burner and media, you could not make a disk that the PS3 would play.
*maybe you can, but it would be expensive. Cost more to do this than just buy the game as of Fall 2010

Thanks commadore64. I was looking for the same answer. I wasn't sure if they still had the copy protection because it was blu-ray.
