UPDATE:
For those of you that are in the similar situation as me. I had 2 problems where the CLIP replacement that's usually sold on ebay wouldn't work either.
#1 My
PS3 ribbon cable holder clip was broken the one that clips the ribbon to the montherboard (The top black clip that pushes down on the ribbon cable)
#2 The other plastic clip holder that's soldered onto the motherboard was also broken to (its the one that holds the black clip in place)
So as you can see even if you buy the
PS3 black ribbon cable clip it wont clip in because the holder on the motherboard is also broken.
So to FIX this problem here's what i did.
#1 I bought sticky paper (1 side is sticky and the other side you can write on)
#2 I took the ribbon cable and traced it on the paper to match the width of the ribbon cable
#3 I cut it a little smaller the the actual width of the ribbon cable so it fits good.
#4 I cut about 7 or 8 more of these papers in the same width and length which was like 1/2 for length just eye ball it doesn't have to be long. just make sure the width isn't past the actually width of the ribbon cable
#5 i took off the backing of the sticky paper side i just cut and stuck the sticky part of the paper on the tip of the ribbon cable where the cable starts.
#6 Repeat step #5 about 6 or 7 more times till it builds a layer of it.
#7 Insert the cable into the ribbon cable slot on the motherboard. It just be a tight fit and snug.
This is what the original black ribbon clip does, it forces pressure onto the ribbon cable and pushes it down. This sticky paper built up layer does the same thing is puts pressure down onto the ribbon cable when its inside the slot.
After you have verified it worked and plays games put some electric tape onto the ribbon cable so it holds it into place so it doesn't move.
*If it still doesn't work try more layers of sticky paper pieces*
Mine has been working for weeks already so i KNOW this works.
Hope this help you guys that have broken your clips on the ribbon cable.
