A couple questions I couldn't find answered...
now I own a psp, iPhone, TI-83 calculator, and ps3 sixaxis controller all of those do not have a port and i got impatient thus i ordered one of the Team Xecuter chips and i had a couple questions...
Why must i copy to a flashdrive THEN to my external hard drive? Why can i not just drag onto it...
EDIT: This is me assuming that the game isn't an ISO but rather an already ripped game of course...
Also is it okay if my external hard drive has 2 partitions?
Also is the PS3 DLC region-free like the discs? I ask because i saw another post said you can upload debug flagged dlc and run it on backup manager so if I run a dlc from europe will it run on my NA ps3?

Wow, you obviously havent read much into this at all.
First question: You dont copy anything other than the hack (the .hex) to the USB microcontroller and the manager.pkg to the flash drive.
First you plug the microcontroller into the USB slot.
You then unplug your console, plug it back it, press power quickly followed by eject. If the hacked worked, you microcontroller should know have some LED's lit up, this all depends on the board.
After the hack works, you plug in your flash drive that contains the backup manager.pkg. You click install and install it, now you dont need to use that flash drive again.
However, you will ALWAYS, as of right now, have to continue to unplug your PS3 every time you want to start it up, and you will always have to have the microcontroller in the PS3.
You can just drag a game onto your external hard drive. The hard drive has to be formatted to FAT32 and all the games go inside a folder on the root called "Gamez." If a game is in the .iso format it will either need to be unpacked, or it will not work at all.
Most games are just in the format that they need to be in for the Gamez folder. As far as I know, you can have a external hard drive with partitions.
As of right now, I am pretty sure you can NOT use DLC yet.
Almost all of this information could have been found out my just reading.

Ps3 dlc - Is the post I am referring to where apparently you can run debug pkg DLC from the PSN via Backup manager.
Thanks for the reply, however 2/4 of the questions you were only "sure" of and 2/4 you answered and when answering in such a way you did that means you only gave me 50%. So most of that information wouldn't of been found by reading -_-, but the 2 you did answer you did so in full.

I answered everything that I knew about it, because I have previously RESEARCHED them.
I am not going to take the time to look up answers for you, when you could do the same thing. That is just lazy on your part. I answered 2/4 questions for you like you stated, and that is something that you could have done on your own.
You can run debug .pkg's but DLC is signed, so until some tool comes out to run the .pkg's as debug, then you wont be able to. There are also some sites that have debug .pkg's, but I havent tested them. So, as far as I know, DLC will not work now.
You are complaining because I told you to do some research, and yet I still answered that questions for you... Doesnt add up.

Update:
I just tried some of DLC for you, and if they are debug links, they work. I used a EUR on my PS3 here in USA and it works fine.

However, you will ALWAYS, as of right now, have to continue to unplug your
PS3 every time you want to start it up, and you will always have to have the microcontroller in the
PS3.
Unless of course you don't want it in dev/service mode

Of course, you only have to have it plugged in if you want to use the hack.

Regardless, I do appreciate your answers. + repped you and all that good stuff. Also thank you for testing the debug pkgs.
Also: Can you point me to a couple websites that I can look at for good PS3 hacking information, because I did look for quite a few hours and didn't find any of the info i was trying to find. I realise that it might be against the rules since you aren't supposed to link to outside site and if so then just let me know.

Reason: added info
-
You can have more than one partition just make sure your primary/active partition is your ps3 partition.
-
Hint: use your google-fu and try ps3 hacks as your search string
Happy hunting
