Thread: PS3 on FW 1.10

hi all. ive been into the console hacking scene since 2005, got pulled in with my Phat PSP and have had alot of fun over the years sticking it to $ony. i know/knew alot about psp firmware, flash0,1 .prxs eboot.bins all kinds of crap...
i have had 3 psps unbricked 2 and sold them, i have 2 fat PS2s, and back in nov 2006 i bought a 20gb and a 60gb launch PS3s.

well about a month ago the 20gb YLODed on me. its on 3.15 FW. i kept my 60gb in the box, only used it once to make shure it worked. its still on 1.10 launch fw. i have had high hopes in the ps3 getting hacked to play backups or homeberw, and kept the 1.10fw just incase a hack did/does come out and needs a low FW version.

ive took it upon myself to look for bugs in the ps3 to exploit and have found a few that never were very publicized but could have been looked into further.
one was when 1.80 ps3 fw was current, and a bug/glitch found by pulling out the ps3's hdd after it loaded up a ps3 game in the xmb, then ejecting and swaping out for another disc, reinsert the hdd and the disc will show under the game section pf xmb. i did this with a dvd-r backup of a ps3 game i made and the game icon and gave icon video played. the game wouldt boot but the ps3 still read the dvd as a blu ray disc. ill never know if a bd-r would have booted

another bug/glitch i found was with a game update. with the game stunt man ignition, the game would start, then ask you to download a game update version 1.15. once done, the data is in the game data folder in the xmb. with this game data you could highlight it in the xmb and hit X to start the game. if the retail disc of that game was in the ps3 it would start as normal, if no disc or any other disc was in it the ps3 would hang on a black screen until u inserted the retail disc. this tells me that the ps3 was loading a eboot.bin in the game data. that eboot bin was special. i used to have the .pkg file of that update but lost it in a hdd crash.

so basically i am offering my 1.10 fw ps3 to test with. if you have a suggestion and or code you want me to test, ill do it.

there is not anything hacked for ps3

you only can use open ps2 loader, so that you can backup ps2 image from a external hdd, or your own pc
