Thread: Brand new to PS3, have a couple questions

So I just got my ps3 2 days ago, i got a 120gb slim. My first question is, how do I read media off a flash drive? I've tried both avi and mp4 format and nothing. Music or video, I can't get it to read either one. I have used 2 different flash drives both formatted to fat32.

Another question I had is if there are any useful hacks or tweaks you can do with the slims? I read somewhere that you can't put Linux on the slims also. Is that also true?

One last question, I'm sure it's been asked about a million times but ... Backwards compatibility on the slims.... No chance right?

No Idea, I never bothered with it.

Nothing noteworthy as of yet.

Yep, no more Linux on any ps3 slim or fat.

That is correct.

If you press triangle on your flash drive it will bring up an option to 'Display All' select this and you will see your media ready for viewing or playing
