Thread: PS3 not reading discs

Hi everyone
when i insert a disc (game,music,dvd)
all that happens is a spinning circle in top right hand corner
is there anyome here that could asist me in sorting this problem out

edit: iv gon ito recovery mode redet every thing there still no luck
iv taken the ps3 apart cleaned the lens still nothing
im about to buy a new blueray drive nut im not toure witch one to buy could someone point me in the right direction please

iv got a ps3 phat 40gb

firstly you need to know what laser you have in your console. it will more then likely be a KEM-400 however double check to make sure. then after you have ordered your new drive put the board from you faulty drive on the new drive, connect it up and it should be working once again. if you have any questions message me for my email :D
