Thread: Need some help jailbreaking a ps3

Hi

i have a ps3 (fat 40gb) with a broken bd-drive. It had CFW 3.55 on it.
Just installed CFW Rogero 4.30 v2.03, evrything went fine. But for some reason i cant install any pkg's.
As soon i enter "install packages" the screen stays black. So ive read somewhere that its probably due the faulty bd-drive.
But if i recall i installed multiman previously when it had cfw 3.55 trough "install packages". Just couldnt boot multiman then.
Its possible that i need a working bd-drive for this problem, witch i knew. But wanted to install just psn games.
Now i cannot do that either..
So i tried downgrading (with in mind installing the first rogero 4.21 cfw, then maybe "install packages" would work) back to 3.55 (with 4.25to3.55=>v3.7a,etc).
But when installing the downgrader i get a error 8002f1f9 when it reach 74%. Now each time it kinda loops trying to install the firmware.
I formatted the drive and i could reinstall the cfw 4.30 v2.03 back. But im back to when i was before.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

BTW im familiar with the installing/downgrading procedure because i have another ps3 with cfw 4.30 v3 that works perfectly fine.

You could try and use the other downgrader from rebug but I guess they're basically the same... it's called ’999′ downgrader.
