Default Can't update from OFW 3.55 - "Data corrupted"

    Hello.

I've been using CFW 3.55 kmeaw for a long time now in my Ps3 Fat (default FW 2.30, no downgrade)without major problems, but i decided to sell my PS3 so i restored it to OFW as the buyer requested. But after that, i can't update it anymore to any other FW version. I tried everything both in normal and safe mode, but nothing worked. When i try to update, it gives me an error code and says "data corrupted". In system information it says it's already in OFW 3.55, but there are some of those pkg installers still showing.

I'm out of ideas here. Is there any solution to this problem? or has my console permanently bricked?

By formatting you mean restoring the system?

If so, i've already done that.

How I got around this on my fat ps3 was to take out the hard drive and do a complete format in NTFS, and then put the hard drive in with the usb dongle in and swithced on ps3 and then downgrade to 3.15 then went back up and working really well.

do not format your HDD, people who keep saying this are stupid, your firmware is not stored on your HDD.

exactly what firmware are you on, are you using the first 3.55 CFW or are you using the other 3.55 CFWs that have PSN bypass etc.

if your on the very first 3.55 CFW like i am, you should have no problem installing any other FWs, ive been on 3.55, then to TB CFW and back to 3.55.

it could be that the 3.55 CFW/OFW youve downloaded is corrupted, you can only install 3.55 from recovery with FAT PS3's.

you could get much more money by selling it with cfw, if that is not allowed just advertise it as OFW 3.55
