Thread: Fallout 3 GOTY language problem

Hey guys I have googled and done my research and found out that fallout3 goty have a problem which makes your language german by default with not way of changing it back to english. My question is that have there been any solutions since then to change both the language and sound to english? thanks for your help

Edit: Downloaded the original fallout 3 and the game crashed when the baby was born... wtf -_-? Decided to re-try the game and it worked fine the 2nd time. Hence I am wondering if this kind of problem will keep on occuring even in the original version as it is quite trouble some and annoying. Also, is it just me or is the wordings for the game too small to see?>_> especially when using the using the computer that was given to you at the start. Is there anyway to change that?

Try deleting the other language files and renaming the english files to the german files.

hmm.. so why dont u get the normal version of fallout 3 !!

Get the normal version, the GOTY is the buggiest game ever made.

Aim in VATS - crash - reboot.
Fast travel on map - crash - reboot.
Walk into room of more than one enemy - crash - reboot.
Turn around, check inventory, talk, jump, reload, shoot or punch - crash - reboot.

These crashes happen intermittently and are random as hell. Operation Anchorage is just horrible to play, framerate got so low in places that it was like watching a powerpoint slideshow presentation.

Google it and see all the complaints. No patches released for it either.

If you do get it working, save ALL THE TIME BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, because when it crashes you sometimes lose all your autosaves. Thanks Bethesda.

^Haha seems like it. Mind if I ask if dlc are worth it or not because it seems hard to use reactpsn to get the dlc.... Wouldn't wanna risk fking up my ps3 since I paid quite high for it.

The DLC is pretty good. Operation Anchorage is fun, Lookout point is my favourite, Mothership Zeta is different, definitely worth playing. The best thing is the new weapons and increased level cap for your character.

It's buggy as hell and frustrating when it crashes and you lose your last 2 hours of gameplay, but it's still Fallout, and if you love Fallout then you NEED to play the DLC.

I think the DLC worked fine when downloaded and added to the original game, from what I've read it's just GOTY that is a mess of glitches and bugs (though the standard Fallout 3 was still buggy on my PS3, but nothing like the GOTY version). Try downloading the standard Fallout 3 and using reactpsn for the DLC, that way you can install the game updates and fixes.
