yes, just to avoid accidental update, delete the update folder in any 3.55+ game. games like infamous2, la noire that were 3.56+ need just an eboot replacement and a param.sfo patch

There is only a eboot replacement from the place i downloaded? There is no param.sfo patch at all...

If only an EBOOT patch was provided, then all you have to do is copy the patched EBOOT file and overwrite the existing EBOOT file in the game directory. If you use multiMAN as your backup manager, and you select the game, it'll ask you whether you want to patch the "param.sfo" file to 3.55. Just say OK. You're good to go after that's done!
Also, it'll save you space if you delete the "PS3_UPDATE" folder (you won't accidentally update too if you delete this folder).
And don't worry, if you don't patch the game properly or something there is no way for it to brick your PS3. Just Chill.
