Thread: FTP Issues

hey there guys...ive a list of problems goin on and hope you guys will be helpful enough....since my external HDD could not be detected on my PC but able to be used on PS3,i wanted to transfer them to another external HDD of mine...and here comes the probs,1:does OpenFTP/BlackBoxFTp works on rebug 3.55.2? 2:while searching for answer i tried to use multiman,connect directly by LAN(PS3>>PC)and used SmartFTP client which connects properly, but when i transfer games (eg. Army Of Two) it hangs at certain folders and would not proceed....what would be the best solutions in terms of reliability and speed(of transfer files)? im already frustrated with my external hard disk since my external 1tb kinda break down on me(with 900+gb of files)

openPS3FTP does work with rebug, if you get it make sure you read the readme to get the password.

is there any ftp app for rebug?

openPS3FTP works.
there's no reason any app shouldn't work on rebug CFW.
it works for me anyway

oh crap..i thought i read it does not work on openps3ftp...my bad...what client do you use and why does it hang when i transfer games from ps3>pc?

i am using blackbox, works like a charm !!

blackbos doesnt seem to work on rebug 3.55.2...when i install it gives me an error 80010009 or something like that...

use multiman. Go to filemanager, look at ps3's ip and log-in as host being your ps3's ip address with username as anonymous and no password is needed

BlackB0x is fast FTP homebrew application. It can transfer as fast as 25mb/s but it frequently crash most of the time you transfer a large amount of files (e.g. 10k files in 1kb in size of each file).

OpenFTP is quite decent FTP homebrew but totally slow on transfer speed, about 10-12mb/s. But it prevents random crashing even if you send a lot of files on it.

If you ask me what to get, Ill go get both, if you see that the game you were transferring is just around 50-100files (maybe 500 files) you use BlackB0x, else use OpenFTP.

r u trying to transfer multiple files at once? if so, it can cause some major connection problems. u might also try another ftp client or a direct connection.
