Thread: Safe to update PSN games?

Hi All,

I cant remember... or find the information so thought I would ask.

With PSN games with a fix (like DUPLEX) can you still update the game and it will be ok as long as its not 3.56+?

Or, does updating it basically overwrite the fix leaving you a demo?

Hey, updating usually ends up replacing the eboot with a newer, higher FW eboot (3.6+), which means it wont launch off CFW. That's for most new and duplex cracked PSN games AFAIK. I'd say stay safe and dont update. If PSN games updates go to Game Data Utility like normal games, you can update, test the game, if prompts for update delete the update from Game Data, game will revert to base (playable on CFW) version. Otherwise u'll have to completly uninstall it then reinstall it.

Again, I dont play many PSN games so...if it's not broken, dont fix it :p
