Thread: FEAR2 dosent work on TB ? " used to work with select.x with Kmeaw

so whats the deal lol
the game used to work fine on kmeaw with select.x but now im on TB cfw, wanted to finish the game b4 diving into fear3.
but the game didnt work .. internal, external, select.x, tried them all.
so whats wrong ? i thought they fixed the games that needs select.x in TB ...

First of all select+x is only to mount the ext hdd as blu-ray drive so if you have the backup in your internal there is no use doing it.
And when you installed tbcfw did you install first 2.0 update then 2.5, and are you having this problem with fear2 only or also with other games?

i installed tb v2 and dongle updater v2.4 as a start with tb, and thx for clearing the select.x way of working even though i already know it
so, i tried another select.x game " Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon " and launched it normally, it worked o_O
now y would that happen ^_^ a select.x game runs with normal launching method while another select.x game dosent work at all :/ ?

If you wanna play that bad and you can't get it to work on TB CFW. then try the Rebug TB CFW, the game works on the Rebug CFW 3.55.2

well i guess its ok, but anyway whats the difference between TB CFW and Rebug CFW 3.55.2 ?

I'm on TB CFW V2. Try going into multiman, highlighting Fear 2 then selecting the 'game settings' and unchecking all of the options on the left as seen here

make sure none of the options are selected such as internal, external, bd mirror, etc, then try running the game. see if that works.

dose the game work normally for u ? because i tried it internal/external with all options unchecked but i get black screen and the ps3 freezes there and only option left is to hard reset it :/ ...
the games label is BLUS-30251 and its 3.79 GB ! is there another version i can try ?

OK, just tried the game (had it when I had kmeaw and only tried it once) and yeah I'm getting the same thing, just blackscreens. Looks like it almost boots up, as my TV tells me that the res has changed from 1080 to 720, but then my external hdd stops (it has an activity light) and then the blackscreen. Gonna have to agree with wissmar454 on this one. Try Rebug, although I've never tried it and have pretty much gone from 3.41 dongle, to kmeaw to TB CFW. If you want, try rebug and let us know how it goes. In the meantime, I'll probably stick to TB CFW V2 and muck around with settings and do some googling and see if I can get it to work.

i am having the same problem(blackscreen hard reset), i am on rebug 3.55.2 TB.

I forgot guys, fear 2 was always a black screen game, the only way to play is with the BD mirror option in MM from external
