PS3 Lagging too much
Its been almost a year i've bought a ps3 slim 320gb, now it has started lagging in many games like fifa 12, medal of honor, god of war 3, james bond bloodstone. All these are in internal and some games on external also lag. I dont know what is causing this problem.
Somebody please help. i'm on 3.55 kmeaw and use hdmi for output.

go into recovery mode and try the "rebuild database" option. it takes a while depending on how much HDD memory is used up
-
rebuild the database and also try keeping the ps3 more in an open area. mine lags when its kept too hot

does rebuild database deletes anything? i've never done it before
-
it won't delete anything. iirc, if u use a theme, it will revert back to the default one...but that's about it. my guess is that ur hdd is either corrupted or failing. if it's lagging on both an external and internal hdd, it could be due to the poor software programming of the system. the system uses a considerable amount of ram to operate the os--not nearly enough to operate many games properly at the same time. that could be what's causing the lag. if it was working before, it's probably the hdd(s) though.

Of course not, it only deletes like messages and it helps for ur problem.
Here is a Tutorial when u dont know how to do:How To Rebuild A PS3's Database - YouTube

PS3 can also lag when there is not enough power input...pls check this before doing the rebuild...:D

I rebuilt the database, it deleted the icons of psn games in external(gamedata tool) and checked the power supply but the problem is still there.

i'd suggest you to backup your ps3 and do a complete restore, and then re-install the firmware. if the problem still persist, contact customer support
