Thread: external hd question

ok im sure its on here somewhere and someones going to be a smartass for me asking but its been a while since ive used my 3.55 cfw ps3 so im having a little trouble playing a game off of my external hard drive. im sure it where im putting the file or something. i thought i just made the same files that are on the ps3 ie VIDEO,GAME, ect. if someone could tell me the proper file setup let me know. i might have it right but the games just not working id appreciate any info

ok well that website is very informitive it does not say the one thing i need to know wich is what is the exact file setup i need on my external hard drive? its been about a year since ive tried to add and play a game on my ps3
so basicly all i need to know is do i put VIDEO MUSIC PICTURE PS3 and in the ps3 file i have SAVE DATA EXPORT and THEME
is there supposed to be a game file somewhere? do i add it on the root with the video,music,picture files? or in the ps3 file? and im not lazy or anything but i seem to be able to find everything but this one step

before even if the game diddnt work it would come up in the multiman but the game i have in there now does not even come up. i have it setup ps3 game video music and picture.....i tried coping it straight into the root in the ps3 file into the game file i even tried putting it in the game file then putting that in the ps3 file.....what am i doing wrong?

ok i changed the game file on the hd root to games and it at least comes up in my multiman. however the game is gta 4 and i got the only us version i could find and when i start it it just flashes to a black screen a couple of times then freezes and i have to shut the ps3 down. i dont have a blue ray drive so this might have something to do with it but its on the list of games that run diskless. ive got 3 games working farcry2 red dead undead nightmare and red faction and they start up fine
