Thread: my ps3 has no Ps1 memory card utility

I recently downloaded psn .pgk file for re 3 ps1 psn game and the game works fine but when i start it up it asks me to create a memory card and boots me out. well to my understanding there is supposed to be a memory card utility option so i am able to create memory cards for my ps1/2 games, but my ps3 doesn't seem to have this option. how am i supposed to create a memory card then, on my xmb under "game" there is no "memory card utility". does anyone know how to fix this or know what to do i am running ver 3.41 jb hermes v4b and my ps3 is nand cechg01.

since i had same problem on 3.41 i can help you
YOU NEED TO PLAY PS1 game without payload booted in CFW.Just restart your ps3 and then dont activate payload .(i don't know how YOU activate it but on my ps3 it activates when i enter open manager)

after restarting just start ps1 game from xmb and it will ask you to format mc

Thanks alot for your help worked right away, had to boot it up in non jb mode and the menu appeared after booting it up and it asked me to make one like you said. +rep man cheers!
