    Default Cobra Help

Whats up scene, I need some help with the cobra dongle. The problem is when I insert the dongle into the usb slot windows will try to install but then say it do not recognize the hardware, i understand that part and what to do next, but after I select the COBRA.ini file it says that it installed successfully, but it still do not recognize that its there! I even have the virus protection off, it also says in the instruction to drag the .cba file to the cobraflash and that doesn't work! Can somebody with the knowledge please help me!? Thanks.

cobra dongles are finicky when it comes to windows recognizing them. I had mine lose connection several times during the update process. try holding the cobra dongle stationary while updating it or try a different usb port.

You can try doing the following as a user (atreyu187) on PS3Crunch posted

01- Unplugged ALL USB/FireWire/SATA adapters plugged into PC. Important only use USB 2.0 port attached directly to mobo
02- Un-installed all traces of Cobra even a deep registry cleaning in safe mode
03- Removed all drivers as well, LibUSB as well (had to re-install for IOS jailbreaking again FYI)
    04- Rebooted my PC
05- Upon reboot I disabled unverified/unsigned drivers from working
06- Inserted dongle and waited for error that couldn't find drivers
07- Manually pointed it to the correct folder for the Win7x64 iNTEL drives and let it do it's thing
08- A prompt will come up stating the drivers could be unsafe and aren't verified, choose the dark box "Install Anyway"
09- Check to see if it is seen in device manager, open start tab and right click on "Computer" and choose manage to check
10- Open folder that contains Cobraflash.exe if seen in device manager and double check your dongle is in PC mode
11- The you need to drag an older update onto Cobraflash.exe, I used 4.1 as 4.2-4.4 weren't recognized by the software
12- Re-Install Cobra CFW of choice, I used NFWv3 Cobra-USB myself but went to Cobra-3.55 just to be safe this time around
13- Install latest Cobra Updater PKG from Cobra-USB Website
14- Once installed reboot PS3 with dongle inserted and the "Unknown USB Device" error should now be gone
15- Format a fresh flash drive and add only the Cobra-USB 4.4 Update only on the drive.
16- Then insert into PS3 and run Cobra Updater and if all goes well you will be on Cobra 4.4 like me, hope this helps some fix theirs.

    And video here

If that doesn't work, then contact your retailer for an RMA
