Thread: Content remaining on the console after been deleted from the XMB

Before I resort to doing a full PS3 system restore....

Advice would be wisely sought from the council members of the forum

TL;DR

Deleted data from the XMB and it remains on the system taking up space in an unknown location on the PS3 hive

System info: 3.55 Rebug CFW on a 320GB Slim PS3

My issue: I check the system information and it says 724MB's remaining, so I try to delete some old spartacus and game of thrones series from the XMB to save up space. "Delete complete" and the folder disappears from the XMB video section. After that I go back to check the system information it remains the same at 724MB's free even though I just deleted 10GB+ of data.

What I have tried:
- Restarting the console via the recovery menu
- Rebuilding the database

I have also tried searching for them manually with multimans file manager, no luck

And get this, when I load up showtime from the multiman XMB I can still access and play those files that I have deleted, showtime via MM only displays a long list of "all media" and lists no directory's for the files so I have not idea what directory it's pulling them from.

Check the size of multiMAN folder... probably you have linked your movies and they are there now... under /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/XMB Video

never happened such thing.
anyway i kind of have the same problem,i installed the fba emulator the when i decided to remove it there's file sitting in mm that can not be deleted.
it's been there since months now...idk.

I'm like 90% sure with the amount of HD Space that is eaten up on my system, that I have a few games that didn't actually delete. I feel your pain duder.
