Thread: NBA 2K12 stuck at 49%

just rented nba2k12 from the red box today and wanted to save it to my ps3 instead of downloading it since all the fuss about the file sharing sites going down. I started saving to the ps3 and it got stuck at 49% and would not go any further at file 11/17. i stopped it and started it again and got the same results although the time ticker constantly counted. After the second attempt i tried my external hard drive and its stuck at the same file i guess but reads at 50% but is still at 11/17 files. and the timer is constantly increasing for time remaining. I'm on kmeaw using multi man of course slim ps3. Just before i attempted to save nba2k12 i did successfully save the latest spiderman game which i also got from red box. any reason why this would be happening or should i just allow it to rip for an hour for an 8gb game?

First make sure you have enough space, if that's not the problem then either your BR drive is bad or the disc is. If multiman can copy other games then you know that the problem is not your ps3 bad the disc.

Yeh I have plenty of space on both the external and internal hard drive. I played the disc on my second ps3 b4 trying to save it to my jailbroken ps3. Was planning on playing it with true blue dongle once I recieve it Friday. Just don't know why it freezes at 50%. Will try it again tomorrow I guess.

I'm not a complete noob I been playin backups since day 1!!! Using the first back up manager and the psjailbreak dongle on my phat ps3.

multiman may be misreading the total number of files. I know this can happen with jtagged 360s as well when ripping a game. and, since the time needed to transfer or install a game is determined by the number of files rather than their size, it could just be stuck transferring hundreds of KB files. I can't really speak of the ps3, but I have seen some 360 games with nearly 30,000 files which take a tremendous amount of time to rip or transfer. I don't know if that's what's happening here, but it may be. of course, it could always be a screwed up disc.
