Thread: need some advice

Hi guys. I just bought a ps3 slim 3001a. After reading I see there's no way to play backup on this one. I have a friend of mine that would trade his phat ps3 jailbroken for mine. Now I would like to know some information before making the trade.

1. Can I play all latest games with a jailbroken ps3 or not?
2. Can I play backup games online with friends? Some treads I read says no, but are out of date. Don;t know if it can play online. If not, can it still play online with an original one?
3. I understand phat ps3 doesn;t come with hdmi input. How's the pic quality on phat compared to slims?

1. aside from a few games (maybe three or four), u can't play any games that require 3.6+ firmware. that should be nearly every game released over the past nine months or so. however, u can play about 50 3.6+ games with the true dongle. some people think it's worth buying, but I personally don't.
2. u can't play on psn, but u should be able to with xlink kai. unless ur friends r connecting to xlink kai instead of psn, then u won't be able to play online with them.
3. all ps3s come with an hdmi output. the video quality should be the same.

Thank you very much for the info. So I'll consider to keep the ps3 I have. maybe someday there comes a way to flash it. I'm interested to play online with NBA 2k12 and latest games but seems I'm not going to be able to play them.
